Season 1 wasn't bad by any means, I wouldn't skip it.

You can definitely skip every scene with Fish in that prison

What I enjoyed most about S1 was the interaction between Gordon and Bullock. Felt like it was just a cop show which happened to be set in Gotham City(which is a premise I like quite a bit). Its a huge city, but you only ever hear about Batman and all the villains. Gordon is a good choice for the main character.

Some episodes near the end of S1 were pretty fantastic. Great build up, good action, amazing climax.

Its not like the show doesn't have any problems. In terms of tone, it lacks consistency. Some villains are crazy over the top-Fish in S1 for example. Theo too, although not as much. Seems more like a caricature than an actual character. But there were episodes that felt like gritty cop dramas-the couple spirit of the goat episodes in S1 for example.

Characters-there are a ton of them. Bruce Wayne, Gordon, Bullock, Nygma, Jerome, Selina, Barbara, Butch, Fish, Penguin, all the mob guys, and more. Mostly, they do a pretty fair job of giving people adequate screen time. Its a tough juggling act, and if you enjoy some characters more than others, it can get frustrating.

Plot lines that seemed to go nowhere-Fish imprisoned in S1 seemed like it should have taken longer to resolve, and didn't really leave me fulfilled. And then she came back for an episode or two, and was gone again.

I think Gordon is a great character, I love Penguin and Bullock. Bruce is passable, Alfred is fine, Selina seems meh but has potential(anybody else wonder how she she scaled a 12 foot wall in a few seconds a couple episodes ago?)

I'd give the show 7/10. Tighten up on the tone-less overacting, more "real" villains, improve the storylines, and maybe reduce the amount of characters you try and focus on.

One of my favourite things about this show is the small tint of slapstick. Makes it stay true to the show being taken out of a comic book world

The Penguin army scene was pretty terrifying. Penguin himself continuing to kill it now that he has the spotlight back.

Loving pretty much every scene Nygma is in, unlike early S1

RIP taskforce

Yeah, anything involving penguin continues to be a great part of the show

So is Gordon gonna warn Bruce about the Mayor and Bruce will not believe him?

Either that or Bruce will (or has already) found out the truth about Theo via the Foxputer and will (or already is) playing him

Good point

That secret room and the computer Fox is fixing for him has to be good for something

Well they'd prolly side with the Mayor and it's not realistic for Gordon to take on the task force also

This. When the sniper confronted hottie on the roof, I expected a pretty good confrontation. Not her killing him in 3 seconds with her heel.

I didn't expect a good confrontation. We've seen from the way the other members of the squad died that they don't put up much of a fight.

I think these people were used to change the Captain's way of policing Gotham, or maybe make Gordon defect from the Captain, with a devil may care attitude.

Either way the downfall of this squad is the downfall of the Captain.

(yes, I forget the Captain's name. All I think is Vic Mackey)

i think they just wanted to call the first Mackey episode strike force

But in The Shield it was the strike team. It did amuse me to have Vic Mackey telling everyone that they will be playing it by the books and not beating suspects.

Can't believe Bruce almost fell for that

Maybe the close call will mature him and he will realize he still has a lot to learn and needs to be more patient with his goals

what a TERRIBLE episode.

the riddler scenes were the only saving grace.

needs to be said twice, that was really, really bad.

i enjoyed the last episode. riddler+penguin team up seems fun. although, i was at the edge of my seat the whole time whether future commisioner gordon would be killed by barbara and whether bruce wayne would sell his company or get killed.

This show can (and has) take liberties with source material and add unique spins to existing characters etc, but if there's 1 thing you can bank on, it's that Gordon and Bruce are probably the only 2 characters that will not die.
