Was a casualty of the Jay Leno 10pm debacle when it originally aired on NBC I think after season 2 here in the states, it took almost a year to get it to TNT with the cast for the most part intact.

Story relevant to the forum - My friend was telling me he had a taxi driver who was addicted to US TV shows and had lost his last two jobs due to watching too much Netflix. So far that week he'd watched all of Breaking Bad and was putting in on average 12 hours a day. He leaves his phone streaming video when he sleeps to get his full unlimited 3G allocation and had only worked 9 hours in the past 6 days because he had so many series to watch. Lol, weird guy.

tbf there is a lot of good tv out there and i watch plenty of it, luxury of being a poker player though. Doubt i would be losing jobs to catch up on Bob's Burgers.

Anyone been watching The Ben Show on comedy central? Weird little sketch show with some big misses, but pretty solid overall. Ben's country song, eating *****, sucking ****, and kicking ass almost burst something in my head i was laughing so hard.

Whilst randomly clicking around I found this sitcom: Kitchen Confidential (TV series)

Has anyone seen it? I loved the book and this had a good cast and seems to have alright reviews but got cancelled pretty much immediately.

Anyone going to watch Bates Motel on A&E?

I've kind of been waiting for its premiere tonight.

Slow pony, just finished Battlestar Galactica, and managed to do so without getting spoiled. Enjoyed it, and am on the "kind of liked it" side of the battle over the ending. That being said:

Spoiler:
Throughout the entire series Laura Roslin annoyed the **** out of me, both in actions and mannerisms. It made it very difficult to respect Adama, who should be total bad ass, when he falls for her. Gonna go find old contemperaneous reviews/discussions to see if I'm the only one.

RE Battlestar Galactica:

Spoiler:
I thought they did a decent job of showing how the kind of responsibility that was forced on her could make a random normal person into what seems like basically a terrible human being.

I've been listening to the Hardcore History podcast a lot lately, and the guy has a good point. Most of the people we see as "Great" people throughout history have only gotten there because they made some decisions that got a lot of people killed.

As to the ending, I was not a fan, but the writing was on the wall when they revealed the final five and it was clear they were making **** up as they go along.

Yea, the fact that the final season seemed like it was story that didn't fit with where the series was going was kinda lame. I liked the final endings just fine, but the big reveals and such I wasn't really a fan of. I feel like that season could have been epic instead of it was satisfactory. Thats my biggest sadness.

Battlestar Galactica talk.

Spoiler:
Up to the ending of season 2 Battlestar Galactica was really fantastic. After that the storylines really suffered, and the fact that everything was so clearly made up as they went along (the final five thing just makes. no. sense.) really brought the quality down, especially so in the last season (I remember having a definite jump the shark feeling during that scene at the end of s3 when the final five are "revealed"; the scene is actually pretty cool with the music and the feel of it etc, but storywise it just angered me too much to be enjoyable). Overall I still love the show, but if it (with some slight modifications) had ended at season 2 it would probably have been my favorite tv watching experience ever.

A Twin Peaks Kickstarter, if Lynch and Frost had to go that route, would make what...at least $10 million?

I'm watching it. I'm on the fence. I'm all for weirdness but some of this crosses over in self-indulgent imo. Especially in the 3rd episode.

Another thing I dislike is trying to decipher what these ****ing Australian guys are saying, especially the main police guy and the missing girl's father.

But I'll watch the rest of it.
