1st 5 minutes could tell it was crap, but watched another few minutes then deleted it.

But there is like 3 people out of 50 that think its fantastic on IMDB. lol

The Hot Zone premiers tonight on Nat Geo. 6 episodes, 2 per night, the next 3 nights. Looks good.

Oh great...that will a nice pick me up after the new ep of Chernobyl tonight.

I remember my biology teacher reading us the first chapter of the book in junior high. One of the most terrifying memories of my life.

Just finished binging both seasons in 2 days. It’s so different than anything else on TV. I loved it so much. Sad there isn’t more to watch.

I am very surprised to say this, but Lucifer season 4 is actually... good?!

Season 1 was ok, but then next 2 seasons were atrocious (I watched an episode or 2 every once in a while and it was just getting worse and worse) and it was rightfully cancelled. This weekend I saw that Netflix decided to continue it and watched a few episodes out of boredom and was very pleasantly surprised. All the awful writing and character building is gone, the story is engaging and well paced. Definitely better than any of previous seasons.

Very bold move by Netflix, picking up a show that was rightfully cancelled due to being terrible and then actually making it work.

Anyone watching Happy! on SYFY? It stars Christopher Meloni as some crazy ex cop guy and Patton Oswalt as his sidekick/ daughter's ex imaginary (CGI) friend. It's a surreal comedy/fighting evil type of deal going on, I've only watched one ep so far but it seems like something special after only one episode.

It feels like it should have it's own thread but it no ones watching it obviously not then.

Yeh there was quite a bit of discussion about it when it came out. It's really good fun.

I can't see how you can say Lucifer was terrible and now say it's good.

It's basically the same show other than there was more about the main story line over the weekly standalone cases.

Obviously that was to be expected with about half he episodes this season, so they didn't have to drag out the main theme for twice as long.

I find it hard to explain what exactly I like/dislike about TV shows, but I'll try: the thing that I hated most about season 2 and 3 was the fact that every single episode run on exactly same, very specific theme: "this mythical being's relation to other mythical beings mirror human's relations to their family members". That's it, that was the whole concept, it pretty much replaced the plot (all the subplots were just excuses to make the same point over and over again), the character development, even all the jokes, since they were all based on Lucifer refering to God or angels or whatever by using terms people use for family (and often that was the entire joke).

Season 4 still does that from time to time, but not as obsessively, so the dialogs can be witty and the character development actually exists. Plus, thanks to being on Netflix they were able to make the show a bit more NSFW, which obviously helps as well.

Just watched "I'm Sorry" starring Andrea Savage who is a funny lady, who has been in a lot of funny stuff, and has a lot of funny friends in the business.

It also stars Jason Mantzoukas and Judy Greer.

It was produced by Will Ferrell, Adam Mckay, The Lonely Island Guys( Andy Samberg, Akiva, and Jorma).

It's had two seasons 2017 and 2019, which were funnier than almost everything on regular cable TV. Worth a watch for some slightly raunchy, but funny comedy.

i know frasier won a boatload of emmys, but it's criminally underrated by the public. it's significantly better than seinfeld imo.

Yeh Frasier and Niles are such great characters the jokes were kind of superfluous.

Saying that anything is "significantly better" than seinfeld probably means you underrate seinfeld.

Also can anyone give me 3 good comedies and 3 good dramas? We're gonna watch Deadwood since my wife hasn't seen it. But could use some new goodies. Talking stuff that must be pretty recent. Fairly caught up on the heavy hitters to my knowledge. So stuff from the last year.

We just did Chernobyl (was great).

Not yet I’ll check it out. Been watching Chernobyl and can’t recommend it at this point. English speaking Russians with UK accents is bothering me. Closeups of radiation burns can be jarring. The bosses continually downplaying the severity in the first couple episodes might be accurate but the way it’s presented feels heavy handed. I’ll still watch the finale tomorrow and see it through to the end bc of Jared Harris, he’s outstanding.

I can’t think of a 3rd drama but here’s my list with new seasons that have aired within the last year.

American vandal
Atlanta
Veep

Patriot
Narcos Mexico

I think Deadwood into Justified is a good pairing.

It's like watching Marshall Bullock being reincarnated in the 21st century.

Party Down
Sarah Silverman Program
Schitts Creek

Seem to be underrated and underwatched in this thread. They're all funny. Schitts Creek is probably the most tame of the three.
