paper girls

i liked it! im not sure i'd recommend it though. you can probably get a good idea just from the trailer if it's for you or not

one thing that really surprised me about it was i got some "the room" vibes from it, like writing and directing sometimes seemed absurd like "oh hai mark" level stuff, which i actually enjoyed. like it was a weird mix of being unintentionally entertaining, and also intentionally entertaining.

not sure it's the #1 comedy but I'm generally both disinterested in rankings and bad at it seeing as I have at least 100 movies in my top 5 all time fav list but I probably go with Bojack horseman as my #1 fav comedy with veep curb IASIP south park rick and morty and AD all very close behind in no particular order and often whichever one I happen to be watching at the time is the one I consider the best ever.

but regardless of if you think it's #1 or #6 it's absolutely genius and a must watch.

Gave up on this early. Looks like the 2nd half of the season was a lot better

anyone watching this?

I like European futbal so I'm enjoying this, hope its not just a stunt for the documentary, it would be an amazing story if Wrexham ever got close to sniffing the Premier league but its fun to root for a huge longshot so I'll continue watching

LOL, I haven't even watched a trailer (googled and read the synopsis) but I will bet the whole thing is staged for views/tv. Hulu ain't getting my money with that.

The whole thing is staged? It's a real football league in the UK. If you mean certain shots or stuff are deliberately filmed...it's a tv show. It's like saying Hard Knocks is staged - no ****, it's tv

Absolutely HOF, and one of the few shows with a large ensemble cast where every character is amazing. I love all the characters equally

I mean the whole thing was planned to be a TV show from the moment they decided to buy the team.

Jason Bateman has had quite the career on the tv screen
from his humble beginnings as an 11 year old actor in a cereal commercial from 1980

to a multiple year stint on Silver Spoons from 82-83 as Derek Taylor
rumor on the street is he was cut because he was overshadowing Rick Schroder.

i'm not sure he's done much else since, has he?

there is one interesting factoid worth mentioning: Ricky (Schroder) Stratton's mother on Silver Spoons was named Evelyn Bluthorn.
i'm sure the AD Bluths are just a coincidence

Damn, different opinion. I find it to be like 80% comedy. Solid show obv.

Yeah, I didn't finish the first season when I had Hulu last but I found The Great to be more like 98.99999% comedy and the rest fact/drama.

I couldn't get through season 1 because it was too woke for my tastes. It just went in a direction that I didn't feel was interesting whatsoever (certainly not interesting enough that I'd be interested in that alternate timeline one single bit).

At the same time, I'm having no trouble enjoying She-Hulk.
