Exactly my assumption too. Shes gonna get the nickname Dany "The Free city subjugator " before too long. She hates everything about Astapur, no reason for her to let it go on like this.

Varys lives! Just has little to do still.

Shocker with jaime

Pretty bad ass arrow shot at the beginning

Too bad the hot pie arc comes to an end

laws of astapor probably forbid murder of non-slaves.

Nice to see a small council meeting. So much for the Eunich being gone from KL...

Jamie can still be awesome 1 handed. His sword usage was a far second to his wit/sarcasm when it came to what made him likable.

I think we should all step back and give this show a hand right now. It's just sooo good.

pretty sure Dany gives zero ****s about Astapor's laws

Lol, am I the only one who actually felt something when Arya/Gendry separated from Hot Pie? I don't know why but I was kinda touched, they made a good threesome.

And speaking of awesome threesomes, Pod/Bronn/Tyrion scene in the brothel was A+, as was the following convo..."copious details".

Haha, I felt the exact opposite about the Hotpie farewell scene. The sad music came in and I was like, wait, we are supposed to care about this? Maybe I just have no heart, lol.

Of course the little fat boy loves cooking.

Also,

Arya's parting line to Hot Pie was well done and touched my heart. I love a good baker.

Btw, I'm gonna go ahead and call right now that the guy helping Theon is actually Bolton's bastard. All the way from season 2 we heard about Bolton's bastard coming to Winterfell and we know that he has had communication with his father upon arriving, but the show has yet to "introduce" him. I don't buy that we'd be 3 episodes in and not have met him yet, and the "smoking gun" for me was when he shot that guy with an arrow point blank and his final words were "little bastard". We already know in this world that bastards are often called just that, so definitely think the line had a dual meaning.
04-14-2013 , 10:34 PM
damn, you're probably right!

but why would Yara be giving him orders?
04-14-2013 , 10:35 PM
Also found it interesting that Theon assumed he was in the iron islands...

Had a similar thought. I guess if Theon is gonna live, he's gonna need a bad ass sidekick.

No, even I was quite surprised that I was actually being moved to any degree by the scene. Given that I watch this series actively rooting for guys like Tywin and Joffrey, I didn't figure I had a heart or any compassion either.

Agreed, I'm kinda intrigued by this new partnership. Dude is pretty lethal with a bow+arrow and we've already seen that Theon is as well.

Could've sworn he said "we're not in the iron islands." Thanks for the correction

Still waiting to watch the episode again but Stannis/Mel scene was a bit confusing. Ok, so Stannis impregnated Mel with the smoke baby that killed Renly, but now Mel is talking about finding someone else with Stannis' blood and that they need someone with royal blood for the sacrifice (not sure about exact wording). But there wasn't any sacrifice necessary for that first smoke baby was there? Did anyone get a good grip on this scene because I was really confused by it?

So it seems pretty clear Pod has a mighty sword.
04-14-2013 , 11:06 PM
I am confused. Who has Jamie? Who was chasing Theon?
04-14-2013 , 11:07 PM
some guys from house bolton, who pledged featly to Robb

Woah, that was real? I foolishly assumed someone somehow put that into the end of the version I downloaded as some sort of lame joke. That was really bad.

This season has so far fell short of expectations for me. Taking so damn long to get going. Tonight the musical ending was jarring, and what about the scene where Pad comes back from the whores? What the hell was that. We generally expect anything small to eventually mean something big, but afaict the whole Pad not paying thing was just there for comedic value?

i had this exact same reaction. the de-handing guy was in mid-sentence when the music hit. i don't expect it to be very well received.
