Let me as this, then. How is it that he has his father's face, as many people mention? Also, he appears to be a warg, and so far this seems to be a trend in the Stark family. Where is this theory coming from?

Spoiler:
In this theory, Lyanna (Ned's sister) is Jon's mother.
Robert started the war, because Rhaegar supposedly abducted Lyanna, but it seems they were in love. Some evidence for this lies in the retelling of the happenings at the tourney at Harrenhall by those crannog men kids, where Rhaegar gave the crown of love and beauty (?) to her instead of his wife.
Later at the end of the war, Ned finds his sister in a bed of blood, and he promises her something. "Promise me, Ned". This is retold in a fever dream IIRC. Maybe he promised to take care of her child.
This is a pretty popular theory, but it has not been officially confirmed.
Long time lurker of this thread and read all four books for the first time this year.

I don't think Jon has Ned's face, but has the physical attributes associated with the Starks. This would mean that if Rhaegar is Jon's father than his mother must be Lyanna. It seems this is the most commonly accepted theory on Jon's parentage on other forums.

Yeah I realized pretty early on that Lyanna was probably Jon's mother, since Ned seems too honorable to have fathered a bastard. Of course, I thought Jon's father was King Robert until I read the Rhaegar parentage theory on the Westeros forum, so lol me. It's for that reason I hate all the speculation and spoiling of stuff that has yet to be revealed or confirmed - I would rather find it out on my own than have others piece it together for me.
I just did a quick look and couldn't find it, but I think I've read an GRRM interview question about whether he is aware of all the fan speculation on both big and little aspects of ASOIAF. If I recall, the answer was yes. I'm of the opinion that GRRM is just a big enough ******* to completely change the story just to **** with the uber fans.
Programming/DVR reminder: the first 15 minutes of the first episode are airing this Sunday April 3rd at 9 pm eastern, two weeks before the full episode premiere.

Another theory based on something similar (might have come up already):
Spoiler:
Since Sansa seems to lack the common "Stark features" (she and Arya are often contrasted in this capacity), it's been suggested that Ned Stark is not her true father. The most likely candidate would seem to be Petyr Baelish, who is now raising Sansa as his "natural daughter."
feel like this thread should be remade when it gets close to airdate with a strict spoiler policy in the OP, such as labeling which book you are spoiling, etc.
or maybe just a separate thread for people to discuss spoilers/book spoilers, since there will be an influx of people who haven't read the books (I myself have not finished all the books so i'm skipping spoilers, though i've read the first one). i dunno, just puttin this out there, cause this thread has already turned into all spoiler boxes.

Spoiler:
Very unlikely, imo. Catelyn was already at Winterfell when she conceived Sansa (the 2nd oldest child). I don't recall Petyr being there at all. Also, Catelyn doesn't seem to be the type to cheat.
I think that's one that can be overlooked, but it makes total sense if you look at the evidence.
What baffles me is that their are people who don't realize what Loras and Renley are doing when they go away to "pray". You get hit on the head with that so many times.
Yeah, I think with Sansa it's most likely Martin being hamfisted - check out how little she's like any of these other people! After my second readthrough when I went to the Wiki type things to look around, I was very convinced by the Rhaegar/Lyanna thing though - that has to be correct.
Obviously Jon and Daenerys get together, overthrow the undead horde, and then do the Targaryen incest thing.
EDIT:
Spoiler:
And yeah, I totally missed Loras and Renly as well.
I am officially predicting a first episode Daenerys fap. I don't think that they will go far enough with the Cersei scene, and I don't believe in randoms.

Stannis clearly knows and alludes to it a few times.
