Just finished the 3 Dunk/Egg short story prequels found in Warriors 1, Legends, and Legends II. Great stuff that left me wanting more GoT.

If anyone here is interested in the 3 books, can ship for $25 delivered PP Goods ($40+shipping on Amazon).

So can someone PM me and tell me whether I should go ahead and start reading book 3 instead of waiting for season 4. I'm basically at the end of book 2, I'm spoiled on Joffrey getting poisoned at his wedding (I don't know by who or how) and I know Tyrion kills Tywin with a crossbow because of stupid twitter. Sorry for coming in and kinda derailing.

Also I pm'd dids since I'm not sure who's the go to mod for the threads anymore. But would anyone mind if I grunch post in here and speculate/kinda talk about what I've just read? I feel like I can't really post in the TV thread even when the new season comes up and that sucks but I still want to participate in some way.

Ok some random speculation for now. I think it was Jon who had a dream (right?) of a blue eyed king holding a flaming sword. I'm assuming that's Stannis and somehow him going to the north for "the true war" or whatever Mellisandre says in S3 (haven't read any of b3).

Thanks in advance.

its a free country

you might get spoiled tho

I'd likely just grunch post whatever I was thinking.

Book 3 was really good IMO, don't see why you wouldn't read it if you've already read the first 2.

Not that I "wouldn't" read it. But rather I'd finish S4 since someone said in the other thread it'd be better to just wait. I figured I'd consult with you guys and see what everyone thinks.

seems like you've spoiled yourself on half the book anyways.
10-13-2013 , 01:02 AM
Yeah go finish book 3 now since your spoilered enough. I have a feeling season 4 and 5 of the show is going to put books 4 and 5 together with the end of book 3.

So if you read book 4 you may as well read book 5 too since they will be all mixed up in seasons 4 and 5 of the show.

I'd prefer reading first and then watch, because you get more easily bored reading stuff you've watched before than vice versa.
10-13-2013 , 01:54 PM
agreed

Gives me lots to bitch about on the internets as well.

I wouldn't say I'm bored of the stuff I've seen already since I'm getting so much extra content and it's so different. Like Reek being actually a guy instead of Ramsay's name for Theon or the fact that Arya kills a bunch of people at Harrenhal instead of the way it happens on the show. Honestly I just really love the series and will enjoy it anyway that it's presented me. On that not I'm about 100 pages out and just started Davos' chapter at the start of The Battle at Blackwater Bay

Also the dream Theon has when he's in the great hall in Winterfell and all the dead people are there (Ned beheaded etc) and Rob and Grey Wind come in and are stabbed to ****. The foreshadowing is just so amazing in this series.

Obviously I didn't spoil myself on purpose or anything lol. Two were my fault (reading rolling stone talking about emotional show endings and brought Ned's beheading up) and the other I was skimming this thread after season 2 and was already started on B2 and clicked a spoiler tag like 7 posts in and it was SirOsis talking about the Red Wedding (not anything on him of course all my fault lol). So all I read was "When Robb and Catelyn die at the twins" was all I knew. I tell my friend that I worked with this and he's like "Ohh dude, that's nothing guess what else they do. They chop off his direwolf's head and put it onto Robb's body as an insult for the boy wolf thing". I was like really bro? lol people.

Anyways I look forward to partially being able to participate with you guys.

Kirby which part were you agreeing with? Morph's post or the one above it?
10-14-2013 , 02:13 AM
Dude, you're not going to be able resist reading the books. Just read them and stop risking further spoilers.
10-14-2013 , 02:34 AM
both, but the reply was w/ morph.
10-14-2013 , 07:07 PM
Killa its obvious you should read all the books. Then read the 3 novellas. Book and show watchers are both gonna be super excited for the next season but the release of the next book is gonna be way better.

Also if you don't read the books you will be spoiled.
10-14-2013 , 07:42 PM
agree with everyone else, just read the books now and don't try to read them with the TV show. they enhance the TV viewing imo and you're bound to get spoiled further anyway if you wait

I apologize for that. It was not my best 2p2 moment.
