Btw if Jaime and Cersei aren't Targs my mind will be totally blown. They're 100% Targs.

I would absolutely hate this if that were the case. And how is that even possible? Joanna was just banging some random Targ behind Tywin's back?

Keep the Lannisters the Lannisters. Jaime being a Lannister and having the redemption story arc that he has is one of the best story lines ever. The family that we're supposed to hate has one of the most conflicted and redeeming characters in the books.

And then just out of the blue you make him a Targ. Doesn't make sense...

Not sure about Jaime/Cersei but Tyrion almost certainly

I don't know how you can say Tyrion most certainly is a Targ. What evidence is there to support this? Aside from the the random dragon dreams (has these because of his fascination with them, not because its in his blood). Tyrion is way too much like Tywin in every way, that making him some secret Targ really detracts from the previous storylines, his relationship with his father that hated him/kinslaying.

Also, how would we ever discover this secret if it were true? There is no one alive that would know that truth.

main lannisters being targ would almost ruin the books dafuq gobbo

Almost certainly is a bit of an overstatement, but it's a strong possibility.

Dragon dreams, Tywin's hatred of Tyrion is helped explained this way as well, and the be all end all of ASOIAF world: Tyrion's hair color.

As far as who would know: Barristan, who is with Daeny.

yeah but cersei and jaime? o_O
03-26-2013 , 12:58 PM
I don't think for a second that they are.

guess he's talking about the fact that aerys showed some attraction to joanna and said something in the lines of "i wish the first night still existed" or something.

edit:
Quote:
According to Barristan Selmy, Aerys lusted for Joanna Lannister, something that caused further friction between the King and his Hand. At the wedding of Tywin to Joanna, Aerys drunkenly japed about how it was a pity the First Night tradition was banned and took certain liberties in the bedding ritual when the men at the feast had to disrobe the bride.[8]
>> certain liberties

or a warg. or a tree.

Going by the three heads of the dragon/three dragon riders thing, where Tyrion is a frontrunner for the third head, he'd have to have Targ blood.

Mismatched eyes could be some mutation of the violet Targ eyes, his hair is also described as blonde/white and limp where the twins are described as golden.

jon/dany/aegon imo.
what are the reasons to believe aegon is fake again? other than prophecies. I can't see why varys would lie to a dying ser kevan.
03-26-2013 , 01:21 PM
The fake paper dragon dealie.
03-26-2013 , 01:23 PM
Plus who cares about Aegon?

I recently reread ASOS and took notes while reading. Here is a list of some of the more minor things that I'm looking forward to in season 3. Not including super obvious stuff like the beric fight, lady Stoneheart, coldhands.
  • Arya's wolf dream. Would like very much to see Arya having a wolf dream too but I'm afraid they will not do that in the show.
  • Tyrion asks for Casterly Rock from his father, but Tywin does not agree and threatens to kill Shae.
  • Robb removes Karstark's head after he kills some Lannister hostages. I liked the atmosphere in this chapter. Very gloomy.
  • Davos is in the cell, and Mel comes in and gives a crazy speech to him. She talks about there being two gods, ice and fire. Seems to be some kind of epic foreshadowing of what is going to happen in the "endgame". Especially since we know that the white walkers are real and that the her magic is also real.
  • Bran has more wolf dreams. He attempts to warg into an eagle and fails. I love the wolf dream stuff in the books. Really hoping they expand that in the show this season, which is likely with the Reeds being included. What else are they going to do with Bran? Besides Queenscrown.
  • Small council meeting with Tywin, Tyrion, Cersei, Varys and Littlefinger. The small council meetings are great because that's where a lot of the scheming and "the game of thrones" happens. This one was has so many of the players included that it's just great. They talk about the war, the situation at the Wall and Cersei's and Tyrion's marriages.
  • Missandei and the thing about Dany pretending not to speak High Valyrian. Included for sure.
  • The mutiny at Craster's, also Mormont's last words, wishing that Jorah should take the black.
  • Stannis & three leeches.
  • Jaime & Brienne talking to Roose Bolton (this will probably not happen in the show, but was very cool to read on the second time)
  • Cat & Robb talking about who will inherit Winterfell, on their way to the wedding
  • Hound taking Arya to the Twins to her mother. Funny thing the Hound said that I realized on the second reading: "Maybe we'll be in time your your uncles bloody wedding".
  • Wolf's head attached to body after the RW - this MUST happen on screen
  • Arya having a wolf dream where she drags Catelyn out of the water. This probably won't happen.
  • Bran warging into Hodor - might happen in S3 already?

Tyrion is def the only trueborn son of Tywin. Jaime and Cersei are Targs. Aerys was mentioned to want Joanna multiple times and Tywin/Aerys had a squabble between them that ended up making Tywin leave the handship.

Jaime/Cersei have been called 'two sides of the same coin' and then the Targ coin metaphor was also used elsewhere. There's a ton of evidence that points to it. I'm willing to take bets.

There is so much gold even so far back as to the second book. In one of Catelyn's chapters when she is at Renly's feast there's a glaring hint. A fool chasing a dwarf around and the fool has a lion mask on. They ask him why he's hitting the dwarf and he says "I'm the kinslayer!" "Don't you mean kingslayer?"

How poetic would it be for Jaime and Tyrion to both kill their fathers? I mean come on.

Jaime's dream about his mother is also blatant. If they aren't Targs then GRRM is trying to make us think they're Targs.
03-26-2013 , 01:45 PM
I find that very likely so if you want to take bets you'd have to give me good odds.

well, it would explain their incestuous attraction.. also, tywin says "you're not my son" to jaime after he comes back from harrenhall.. jesus, I still can't believe it can be true.

Why would you think this wouldn't happen? Roose can acquire Harrenhal some other way, he's in a tough spot after what Locke does to Jaime but has already secretly switched teams and is the one to let him on his way and he leaves Harrenhal to Locke who can later be taken by the Mountain or whatever.

Would be sad if that scene didn't make it though. Although one of my favorite things about it was the image of them at this one table in the middle of cavernous emptiness which they've had to scale down in general.
03-26-2013 , 01:51 PM
Roose would pretty much have to take Harrenhall just so that scene could occur, at this stage it saves no other purpose. It's very unlikely Roose leaves Robb's side until he sends Jaime's regards.
03-26-2013 , 01:54 PM
is that all from memory gobbo? if so im envious :P

I just thought they made Roose different in the show because he wasn't in control of Harrenhal, and was more close to Robb. Wouldn't it be an obvious betrayal of Robb now if he talked with Jaime and let him go?
