Hope this isn't too early...

Final season of the FNL starts 27th of October. I'm really excited to see whats going to happen. Kinda wish that this show would just keep on going forever.

Just thought I would point out to anyone who was wondering that those links do not contain any spoilers.

A quick note for when it starts - if you want to discuss the trailer for next week's episode, please, please put it in a spoiler tag. No, it isn't a rule, but it takes zero time and is much appreciated by people such as myself.

Having said that there's not been any problems in past seasons and I'm sure there won't be this time.

I'm very excited for the new season, especially with Mad Men going off the air.

Just got done watching Season 4 on Netflix, thought it was great. Maybe the best season yet. One loose end that afaik was never tied up has me worried. If they really wanted to keep it real, season 5 could start like this:

+1 for being stoked.

in FNL news, Michael B. Jordan (Vince and lol at the name i didn't realize until just now) now has a small role in Parenthood on NBC. not worth watching to see him but it's fun to see an East Dillon Lion in a different role.

Aye good first ep but Jesus this feels like it could be the most depressing season of TV I've ever watched.

Spoiler:

Julie leaving was hard to watch. I feel like there will be something majorly out of place with this show. I didn't quite realize it until this ep, but she's a pretty pivotal character.

The football stuff kind of sucked. Putting that guy in and having him catch a TD is pretty LOL, as is seeing Boise State: High School Rendition.

Not sure I'm going to like the Vince/Jess stuff. Thinking she has to get pregnant?

Otherwise still pretty awesome. Looking forward to Billy on the coaching staff, that should provide some LOL moments. God this show is fantastic.

No need for spoilers itt. Agree with the depressing comments though.

- Like you mentioned, Julie leaving is .
- I thought the scene with Landry and Matt's grandma was super sad.
- Every time the Taylor's baby is on screen, I cry a little at how ugly that kid is.
- The football scenes are so bad. Like, if you want to take the arc that East is going to be good, then just let them win a normal game. That's my one big criticism of this show throughout the series; the football is overly dramatic.
- sad Becky. So hot when she is pouty.
- 3 months until Tim gets out, could play a pivotal role at the end of the season somehow.

New kid's basketball form was hilariously bad.

Taylor runs like god going for 2 down by 1 with no time on the clock.

I love this show though seriously, Coach Taylor is probably my favorite character in the history of TV.

There should definitely be spoilers used itt. Most people won't see this until it's on NBC months from now.

I wish this show could go on forever.

Agree, definitely use spoilers. I'm from Finland so I'll see the eps 6h-48hs after you guys and it would tilt the **** out of me if I knew what was going to happen.

That was sad but they had to get Landry and Julie leaving out of the way. I think the 2nd ep wont be like that

like the scene with Landry and Matt's grandma

lol at the Boise St play. I've just accepted the football scenes will be bad long ago

the new kid trying to shoot a jump shot was also lol. ball didn't even go above his stomach before he released it.

just glad the show is back

what else is this thread going to be about if not what happened in the episodes? so shouldnt you just not click on the thread until youve watched the episodes? just seems weird to me, the thread is going to end up with 90% of its posts in spoilers.

that said, woo! new season of fnl. enjoyed the first episode, lots of changes, will be interesting to see who gets more screentime as a result of the old guard leaving.

also agreed with accepting that the football scenes are a bit silly/cheesy, and agreed with how absurd it is that there wasnt one person on set who was like "actually thats not how you shoot a basketball"
