This episode was pretty good.

Yeah I didn't know it was him when I saw him, but when I saw his name in the credits afterwards I certainly did a double take.

Wait.. Vogel isn't the "melonball killer"?

How are we 4-5 episodes from the end of this show and there is almost nothing going on. We have a bunch of little random stories that all suck, don't make sense and have no suspense. BB based on first episode is showing how to close a series out. This is utter garbage.

Maybe Dexter gets killed by a drunk driver in the end. That certainly doesn't require a long buildup.

a drunk quinn runs dexter over, asks deb to help him cover it up. she agrees. both get investigated by that black sergant. Matthews critizes her for investigating cops. she does anyways. harrison kills her. batista reopens his restaurant. final scene is mazuka hugging his daughter.

Masuka's daughter catches Dexter after becoming the new babysitter once psycho kid kills the current babysitter because Dexter isn't giving him enough attention. Deb kills Dexter before he gets sent to prison because the prison industrial complex is afraid he'll kill off everyone else in the prison and reduce their profits. LaGhosta appears and starts haunting Deb. Batista retires and reopens his restaurant, but gives his hat to Quinn so he can go be the Ice Pick guy on Justified. Harrison finishes the puzzle. Final scene is GhostDexter getting ready to make his first appearance to Harrison when he is startled by a "Surprise, Mother****er!" and turns to see (cut to credits).

Both of those are better than what the actual ending will be I'm sure.

dexter teaches this new kid his code then dies with hanna. new kid gets a spinoff. it lasts 8 seasons and we all watch every single episode and talk about how much it sucks on the internet.

If anyone gets a spinoff, I doubt it'll be the kid, since the actor playing the kid doesn't seem even remotely capable of holding down his own show. Much more likely to be Deb or Hannah IMO. Or maybe even Masuka, haha.

Tomorrow we'll watch the 5th last episode of Dexter ever! Will we get a remote idea where they are going with the ending? Can't wait!

I wonder if they forgot they were even doing the final season until the last couple of episodes went into production.

I'm totally expecting a normal Dexter season finale, only at the end before the credits roll some text comes on screen that says "and Dexter lived happily ever after. The End."

It'll be one of those things where he was faced with a decision in the beginning of the episode that will make him re-evaluate whether he should keep killing because in the episode before that, he came "this" close to getting caught but pulled through.

Because of his family or whatever, he'll commit to stopping with a VO that says, "I think it'll be better for them if I stop now." then in the last frame, the VO will say, "Or not...."

The overwhelmingly dumb thing is, if Dexter does decide to stop killing in the end, it won't even be the slightest bit earned. How are we supposed to believe the main character could decide to change his entire personality overnight right now, when nothing has happened all season to provoke it? Unless Deb or Harrison dies, no trauma of Dexter's will ever be greater than losing Rita, and he came through that okay. With the exception of his show becoming terrible, of course.

For the record there seems to be a LOT that can be gleaned from IMDB about the way this is all gonna go down.

I hope for the finale they go full Game of Thrones with Deb/Dexter and Masuka/daughter.

I am still hoping for Vogel turning out to be Dex's/Deb's real mom and for a really ****ed up threesome to occur.

Something did change. Vogel appeared, and then we were constantly subtly hit with a sledgehammer that Dexter may have been misdiagnosed as a psychopath.

If they don't kill the kid off this episode then I have a feeling that he'll end up killing Dexter in the final episode and carry on the code.
