wonder what it says about you to think that....

He means Steve the Drunk, but no, he was just being nice to the kid.

ok i just watched the scene again. ytf's right I was talking about Steve the drunk but i definitely misread the scene. i though it was with him creepily staring down the kid (he just likes the bicycle), randomly grabbing the kid (he was trying to put him on the bike), and telling him not to tell his father something (i guess he was telling the kid not to tell his mother).

i must have been pretty hammered last night b/ at the end of the s2 finale i knew the person hanging was Farnum which made absolutely no sense but made me so happy at the time i didn't bother to rewind and double check.

Well, S3 is unfortunately the end so sticking with it won't require much.

Weird that someone would be bored in season 2. But to each his own.

I was so excited when I saw this thread bumped.

RIP Richardson.

P.S. I got the shirt, and it's great LDO. $24.95 shipped. Not bad.

E.B. Farnum: Could you have been born, Richardson? And not egg-hatched as I've always assumed? Did your mother hover over you, snaggle-toothed and doting as you now hover over me?

Richardson: I loved my mother.

You're probably just "slow".

Before more hate comes of this post beyond the one reply already above, I'll chime in on this subject as I have previously ITT.

Deadwood is one of the most expertly written and well put together shows of this century and will have a long legacy in the annuls of quality TV. But it's not for everybody. And beyond that - I believe that one can be a discerning TV viewer and all-around intelligent person and still not care for it or even think it's all that amazing.

I also feel like it's become a popular show for "posers" to glom onto so as to impress people - sort of like Tom Waits for music. As a result, it becomes more divisive than it should be. Long story short, there's room for people to agree to disagree about it.

I mean ya you can be intelligent and discerning and just not like "westerns" or shows set not in modern times etc.

but there is a difference between saying "no matter how well made this show may be it's not for me" and saying "it's boring justified is 10x better".

and I hope u can see the difference.

I disagree. Justified is clearly only 9 times better.

Just kidding.

Ironically, I love deadwood and have seen every episode multiple times, and was exciting about justified when it started. But after the first four weeks were villain of the week type stories, I stopped watching because it was boring to me.

u def need to go give it another shot.
while the 1st season was episodic from season 2 on they changed it to season long arc and it became elite.

season 2 was one of the GOAT seasons of TV.

I liked it but the dialog was absurd and the main character was a bad actor.

I thought he was a bad actor at first...but the more I watch it, the more I like his performance.

oh man for a second I thought u were talking about Ian mcshane then realized the "main actor" was supposedly timothy olyphant.

I didn't particularly like the way he portrayed bullock but after seeing him act in other stuff im pretty convinced that's how milch wanted him portrayed.

someone who in every scene (even ones with alma) appears to be fighting back the urge to be violent and just barely succeeding.

I've watched the show more times than I can remember and each viewing reinforces that theory.
