come on, it was a totally fair assumption, it's not anyone's fault that Gilligan went so far out of his way to deliberately [censored] with that cliche.
07-16-2012 , 09:36 PM
i'm not saying it isn't a fair assumption - i didn't read the BB S4 thread or anything about ted's 'death' really, but i bet a lot of people jumped up and down saying 'oh the oranges mean he's dead!' - well, no they didn't, and you learned a lesson about obvious symbolism.

Sorry mr. Cool
07-16-2012 , 09:38 PM
I absolutely love that Gilligan said FU to that tired and overused/discussed symbol.

Serious question: where other than Godfather, John Belushi Brando impression, and Sopranos?
07-16-2012 , 09:43 PM
Hi everyone. This thread sucks!

Killing off homages to The Godfather? That's just not right.

Seriously and this goes for a lot of people in here talking about realism and it not being real enough or nearly real etc. etc. etc.. Its all absolute fantasy. I absolutely adore this show and think it will go down as the GOAT after season 5. PURE FANTASY. Planes falling out of the sky, Giant scrapyard magnet in the back of a truck, Poisoning children, 3 men flying into mexico and wiping out an entire cartel with a bottle of tequila and escaping, Giant underground meth labs, bombs going off in nursing homes, Jessie having week long parties in a nice housing area with every hobo junkie in a 5 mile radius and no police ever showing up once, Let alone the house actually not being stripped bare when he comes home and that flashing sound system would be first to go! I mean I could go on and on.

Nitpickers gonna nitpick I guess but there should be way more love for this show in here. It is a big hot steaming pile of awesomeness and should be celebrated. Look at this enthralling world these writers, directors and actors have created.

Awesome magnet truck should be mobilised and sent to some of your homes!

why isn't there a 'like' button here? trinityifc's comment deserves a like. breaking bad is awesome but it is not and never has been realistic.

Randomly readin this thread

I doubt this happens. Walt will be more powerful than ever at the end of the series I'm feelin. Now he's tying up loose ends and looking to take over. Anyone who stands in his way is going down. That's where I see it ending.

Realism walked off stage and got replaced by awesome the moment Walt tossed whatever that blew up that place in the first season (if not before that).

I seriously don't recall much discussion about Ted being dead or not, but maybe I just glossed it over (I assume somebody will now find a post wherein I state he's obviously dead). Just in general it seems like a good idea to not believe a fictional character is dead unless you get pretty overt confirmation.

The whole Ted subplot is pretty annoying

Sounds like The Godfather Part II. I'm in.

Holy ****. So now that BB has become mega-popular do we now get to look forward to every mentally and emotional ******ed monkey on 2+2 posting in this thread each week?

Some of these posts are just painful.

Just rewatched the season premier.

Walt was very Gus like in the scene at Sauls office. The way he sat in the chair, staring blankly at Saul. When he walked around the desk was reminiscent of when he walked behind Viktor to slice him, and the way he said "We're done when I say we're done."

Walt=Gus imo

walter jr tells walt during this episode that gus being a huge meth dealer is all over the news.

couple things that bugged me in this ep, mike not wearing a mask as he walked up to spray paint the camera. No guard at the fence, and apparently no cop was watching the security camera to see wtf is going on outside.

And also lol at walt for being so sure the laptop is destroyed when half the stuff in the evidence room was still standing.

So they clearly have to start cooking again. There is still a huge market out there and Walt's ego can't have someone else fill the gap that Gus left behind.

Any thoughts on how/where they will start cooking? Without the superlab it will be hard to get enough volume out...
