There are definitely lengthy scenes that don't advance plot or storyline. What do you call these? "Showoff" jumps to mind, intentionally ... stepping outside storytelling just to make something pretty.
Which is awesome.
The scene of Mike digging .... I get I, I get it, I get it ... but don't change it because of that. One great thing about BCS is that it is complex and has a lot to offer. Including a fast moving story and artsy scenes ... As with BB, I remain fascinated with these shows' use of half-shadowed faces...
One great thing is that many/most viewers' knowledge of BB allows the people making BCS to do a lot of fun things. We know the outcome of scenes because we've seen those characters in the future ...
Geeking out. .... I was wow'd. Odenkirk is exceptional.
omg the scene where he has the breakdown/absolute honesty in the legal insurance office and it turns on him .... I didn't dig the next story jump--that moment leads to directly to conflict at the firm ... but just in and of itself that scene was powerful. We like Jimmy. We finally see him open and honest, and it immediately turns against him. ...
Actually ... mirror that with Chuck's S3 ender honesty, which also immediately turns against him. .... huh.
