The only one with a beef is Ben Blaque, but not because of the votes. His beef should be with the camera angles they chose to show the act. Watching it live you were left thinking "What just happened?" And not in an amazed way, more of a what did he do way. Should have been just one center camera showing the whole set up. Can't vote for something you can't really see.

So one out of three was in the top three - Todd Oliver. For the others, Ben B. got screwed by the director. Can't vote for what you don't see. That leaves the two horses.

Horse - I'm laughing now just thinking about it, but no one is voting for that.

Horsman - He had a key. I guess his tallent is not panicking.
So you'd rather watch the dancing dudes over a guy trying to escape cement?

Horse we know only appeals to a small demo and the posters on this board are primarily it.

We here have the ability to fast fwd , rewind, watch the tubes and asses something in far greater detail IE w know that the cross bow trick was great but didn't translate well to TV and thus we 9the OOTV collective watching the show) would vote for him knowing its a good act over a singing mexican kid.

the tap dancers are the most boring act on the show... well, Lindsay is boring, but she holds my interest as a male. i cant even imagine women being into All That, and i dont understand how they're still going and getting votes

When I predict this show, I pay quite a bit of attention to the audience's reaction. I, of course, know my own reaction to acts, but that is only one man's opinion, and paying attention to the broader audience reaction helps to complement my own personal perspective.

A few weeks ago when All That! got eliminated the first time, I was really surprised that they were in the judges' vote (top five for the show). The audience reaction was rather lukewarm at best and there were other acts with more favorable reactions, so I wasn't expecting them to be one of the top five acts on the night. But, sure enough, they were, and they only (barely) got eliminated by a 2-1 judges' vote.

When I watched the Wild Card show the other day, I again noticed a very lukewarm reaction from the audience, whereas acts like Spencer Horsman or Jarrett and Raja got standing ovations. But I'll confess that a thought did cross my mind that All That! surprised me the last time around, and they may do so again...

...I should have paid more attention to that thought. They certainly did surprise again.

The only thing I can conclude is that the demographic of viewership at home is quite different from the demographic of the live audience. In particular, of the three judges, who gushes the most over All That?

It's the nearly 60-year-old woman, Sharon Osbourne. This is a demographic you wouldn't expect to see represented in the live audience, but I could see middle-aged women voting in droves for All That!

Aside from middle-aged women, I think they may also get some "homer" votes from the South. With their Southern drawls, All That! may pick up a few extra votes that way.

I doubt they'll make it past the semi-finals, honestly, but in retrospect, it's not TOO surprising that they mustered up enough votes to (barely) make it out of the Wild Card round.

I just saw the results on the wiki page and I assumed that it was just someone messing with the page for fun. How are these results real? (I guess the answer is above)

Hopefully I never find myself in situation where making a choice between the two has a significant effect on my life.

What I'm saying is there is no great injustice here. On a scale of 1 to 10 all these acts were between 4.5 and 5.5

I agree Spencer Horsman isn't really a magician, he creates a dangerous atmosphere where he has to do some sort of time trial to get to safety. While if you think about it it's not that impressive, but with the concrete I was really sitting on the edge of my seat. I'm sure there is a 0% chance he dies in there, but when you're watching you feel like he totally could, and that deserves to go on way more than some of the other guys.

Same with crossbow guy. I'm sure any trick he would do there would be only be a 0.0000001% chance someone gets hurt/dies or something, but it's exciting and he has an impressive crossbow skill. They deserved way more to go on than All that!, which was just an average dance troup that will get crushed into oblivion in the semifinals if they do anything remotely like what they did now, or the opera singer who just basicly sucks but has a story and has a special look. And the Sebastian kid is OK I guess but I just don't give a **** about what he's doing and I don't like the kid, he looks like a little prick.

I don't know why this tilts me and no one will care but its concrete that was poured onto the houdini guy, not cement. Cement is a flour like substance used to make concrete. You'll never see cement. Also, the concrete that was poured onto him wasn't even real concrete. It had no gravel in it, which is kind of what makes concrete concrete. Such a nitty post, I know, but hey now you learned something today.

Anyway hopefully next week will correct the travesty of a mockery of a sham that was the wild card episode:

Academy of Villains, dance crew
Andrew De Leon, opera singer
Bria Kelly, singer
Donovan & Rebecca, acrobatic duo
Edon, singer
Eric Dittelman, mind reader
Joe Castillo, sand artist
The Scott Brothers, cartoon popping dancers
Todd Oliver, ventriloquist/dog act
Tom Cotter, comedian
Turf, contortionist/dancer
William Close, "earth harp" musician

The winners should be:

William Close
Eric Dittleman
Todd Oliver
Tom Cotter

but the winners probably will be:

William Close
Eric Dittleman
Turf
Tom Cotter

I'm going to guess with concrete there is no chance he somehow gets stuck in it?

If they would use cement, would the trick like it was performed have worked? Or would his legs have been stuck already?

nah concrete takes a full day to set up, at least a couple hours to start to get hard.

like i said, cement is just something people say instead of concrete for some reason. cement looks like flour, its ashy. unless you worked in construction, youd never see cement at all.

I've used a substance that sounds like what you subscribed to help someone lay the "path" for their garden and garage, but it might be something different . It was very heavy and after a couple of hours it was already starting to get a bit harder (possibly because it had rained a bit) so we had to keep kicking it loose with our shovels before being able to transport it it, was hard work, could barely walk the day after .
(I was the only one who wasn't in construction helping, I was the guy that needed to shovel everything and bring it to them so they could place it )

Correct. They go to the top ten from here, so each of the two semi-final rounds will advance five acts.

the mariachi kid, really? and that kid thinks he is on par with jackie evancho? god have mercy.

those two guys who did the balancing act were the most underrated of the night.

The magicians were meh and have always been. That is basically a trick done many times over the decades. Every magician does at least one trick like that every show just to pay homage.

the crossbow act did get bad camera work. audience was forced to rely on their understanding of the danger and coolness of the trick rather than being able to visually experience it.

the talking dog is a cool bid and he did try harder but he remains a half ass ventriloquist, a nervous performer and the jokes are not nearly top level, especially considering mediocre delivery.

So sad the injustices..

I been watching this show the last audition show before the youtube and second chances that aired before the olympics was great but the rest has been underwhelming this year.

A bit off topic but this girl who sang on X Factor in the UK in the episode that aired I guess it was this past Saturday brings it hard with originality when it comes to singers anyway.

I take it back. Looks like only three acts per semi-final will be moving through.

I'm not sure what happens next, but I'm guessing that they're shortening the show's format because they had to take two weeks off during the Olympics. My guess is that the six acts that move through will be the final round.
