For the most part people should stay away from these songs. Some can pull it off. It doesn't all have to do with having gone through a certain experience. I just mean when they seem totally oblivious to what they are singing.

I think the real issue is talent. They were harping on Katie for "not being young enough" or "relavent".

In reality, she just sucked. If she sang better, they wouldn't say it's not relavent, they would be saying OMG you are great. Like with Crystal, or Simoan. Sometimes they sing old songs, but they just crush them, so no one says that to them

Well, yeah, like Katie's interview last night.

"I chose the song because the lyrics really spoke to me, like, wild horses couldn't drag me away. So it kind of speaks to me, like, in this moment this is my time and this is what I want to do; so... wild horses couldn't drag me away from this."

Quote:
Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I can't let you slide through my hands
Wild horses, couldn't drag me away
Wild wild horses couldn't drag me away

I watched you suffer a dull aching pain
Now you decided to show me the same
No sweeping exits or off stage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses, couldn't drag me away
Wild wild horses couldn't drag me away

I know I've dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom but I don't have much time
Faith has been broken tears must be cried
Let's do some living after we die
Wild horses, couldn't drag me away
Wild wild horses we'll ride them someday
Wild horses, couldn't drag me away
Wild wild horses we'll ride them someday
i mean..... HUH?!?

You can tell just by his expression he is, just like Crystal, just like Gokey
lol level? How does he think he's "amazing" he's one of the more humble people on the show. I'm pretty sure you're the only person who thinks he was ever, at any point "holding back". If you truly think ppl "hold back" on IDOL then you're lol clueless. His second week he sang you give me something which is a song he's covered many times on youtube, and the FOB song was something that should have went over well with the judges but at that point he was being graded on the highest curve known to IDOL cause it was fresh off his epic hollywood week. The only thing I could ever tell by his expression was he might be starting to get a bit annoyed by Randy's judging cause the only word in his vocabulary is pitchy.

IDOL is a once in a lifetime opportunity and especially for someone like him who isn't well off and is trying to make a career out of music there's no way you think you're gonna just coast in there. The fact that you previously thought he was holding back till the top 12 is just stupid and I can't comprehend how you could possibly make sense of that. The top 12 is all themes bro.

I thought it was bad at first, but ended really well. Once again, Crystal crushed it.

Watched the 2 hour show in about 20 minutes. Skipping Ellen, Kara, and Seacrest ftw!

I have no proof, its just my gut feeling.

also, ppl were posting twitter posts from him or his wife basically stating that he's done just messing around and he's going to TRY to slay it this week. That was Genie in a Bottle. I'm not saying it's the truth, just how i feel about him

I agree & could see him having a modestly successful career teaming up with a good songwriter & band.

I would like to perform in a trio with Siobhan and Didi and make beautiful music.

I still don't get the hype with Mike. Simon's comment about the corniness was spot on. He just feels like a lame bar singer or something to me, not a recording artist. Casey's stupid puppy dog smile like he thinks he's the **** while he's playing the guitar is immensely tilting, and I think he's someone who would just look silly doing what he does outside of Idol.
This is almost exactly how i feel.

wat

Kara doesn't know **** about singing.

In terms of judging vocals, it's something like

Simon > Randy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kara

So the wife is doing her Idol pool at work again this year. Each week I have to send in 2 picks (can double up on the same person). 5 points if they're in the bottom 3, another 5 if they get sent home. I know who I would pick to go home, but now I have to guess who America will send home. Any ideas? I'm thinking of playing it safe this week and going

Lacey x2

I mean, she HAS to be in the bottom 3, doesn't she? Someone at work mentioned Urban was on VFTW so I'm worried about taking him.

Someone trustworthy should make some sort of $5 FT/PS contest here with a variation of those rules.

I've watched every season--usually just the performances and not the kick off episodes. I've never voted. I am not in the voting demographic.

I rewatched the performances today at a louder volume because my husband was sleeping on the couch last night. I rescind my half hearted support of Urban. It's like he gets a handicap boost in my mind because he was so awful his first couple of times. Well, he's still pretty awful. On the other side of that coin, I stand by my renounciation of Garcia. Also pretty awful. I hope one of these guys goes home. Won't bat an eye if it's Lacey.

I wonder if Seacrest is bummed that Paula left the show and now he is, hands down, the most annoying contributor.

Why is Simon being so nice this season?

I think he's just too disinterested to even bother roasting them. This group is so mediocre, I can't imagine any of them having any kind of career post-Idol. Plus he's on the way out, which I'm sure he's happy about at this point.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but trust me, there are billionaires who hate their jobs.

But back to Simon, if you don't believe me, look at his body language this season. He's already halfway out the door.

meh i don't believe simon hates his job. i agree he's probably disappointed with the talent this season and just wants to get out of there and start on the xfactor, but there's no way he's not enjoyed previous seasons.

seacrest is one of his best buddies. going to work and doing a live show which 30m people watch with one of your best friends doesn't sound so bad to me.
