I have the MLB.TV internet package, and I always like to watch the opposing announcers call Mr. Pujols' homeruns. It's usually something deadpan like "Grand slam. Pujols. Cardinals lead. He's... good." And then they spend the next 5 minutes discussing letting him beat you.

And nice freaking job Hoffpauir. Welcome to the bigs. I'll try to remember how to spell your name. You earned it tonight.

If the season ended today Pujols would be 8 BA points short of the first triple crown since 1967.

Yeah nice work by Hoff. In his first two at bats he has contributed more than Thurston has in the last three weeks. (Thurston 0 for 3 with an error leading to a run; obviously he'll be starting tomorrow)

Please release Thurston when DeRosa is back in the lineup. Please. OH GOD PLEASE.

I was all for starting Hoff at 3rd over Thurston or T Greene. Then I found out Hoff had never had any experience at 3rd base, then I still thought it was a good idea.

I'm starting to get a little worried about De Rosa's injury. They haven't been saying much about it. I sure hope it isn't another one of our mystery injuries that lead to month long or season long DL stints.

There is absolutely no reason for Rasmus to not be in the starting lineup everyday. I was excited to see DeRosa at 3B with a Rasmus, Ankiel, Ludwick OF that first game he was here and then saw him out at left with Thurston at third and was like....wat? Are you serious?

Yeah I was all for kicking Jockety's ass outta town too. Now I realize he's probably twice as effective as our current GM and would love to have him back. I think of a lot people are gonna feel the same way about Tony when he leaves. If nothing else TLR gets us Duncan and increases our chances of keeping Albert. Of course big Dunc gives us little Dunc which sucks.

Unless you can bring in Torre or Cox getting rid of Tony is prob gonna give us a worse record at the end of the year IMO.

But yea i'll still complain about lots of the stuff he does because it is madness.

No, I think Jocketty had run his course as well. Jocketty made some nice moves, but left the farm system pretty damn barren. Jocketty shares the same love of crappy average veterans that LaRussa, Duncan, and his current mangager Dusty does. I don't think this way of thinking can be successful anymore. I have no idea if Mozeliak is good/not good, but at the very least, attention to the draft and farm system is being paid.

Gee, I had no idea that a lineup with Ankiel, Duncan, Thurston, and Greene/Ryan would only score 2 runs. Why does he insist on running a lineup out there that gives us no chance to win? Does he now EXPECT Albert to hit 2 bombs a day to keep us in games?

This **** is ridiculous.

We win, and even Thurston managed to get a hit.

De Rosa fitting to get rechecked out by the team so hopefully thurston's days are numbered.

Jason Marquis' silly ass brings his 3.84 ERA to the all star game and Carp gets left out. Would love to get the players opinions on which one them they'd rather face in a game.

I have never been prouder of someone screwing up a bunt than I was with Rasmus yesterday. Lets have our second best hitter (by a longshot) start making outs on purpose in the first inning.

As for the ASG, meh. I would be fine if a Cardinal starter never pitched in one. Great honor and all, but it can only be a bad thing for the Cardinals as a team.

I'll go ahead and add the Home Run Derby to that. I don't want my best players muscling up swing after swing for 50,000 cheering fans.

Having him bunt was one of the dumber decisions ever. There's absolutely no logic to it. Taking the bat out of his hands plus if he did get a hit or a walk guess what, they might not intentionally walk Albert like they would've 100% of the time when the bunt does or doesn't work.

Rumors are De Rosa on the DL retroactive so he's planned back ten days from now to during the Arizona series. What a shocker.

Yeah, is there any such thing as a minor wrist injury? They scare me more than just about any other kind of injury. And yeah, it would not surprise me if he is out a lot longer.

+1 to quad and the HR derby thing. Didnt Edmonds say he screwed up his shoulder swinging during the HR derby that one year? I am pretty sure that is the year his production went to hell after teh AS break.

OMG, great ab Ankiel. Some at bats he's swinging at every pitch and others he just takes every pitch. He's like the special kid that everyone had on their little league team that strikes out 80% of his at bats.

This Thurston bastard is like he's just trying to see how bad he can play without being knocked off the team. The ******* is hitting .200 and is up there hacking away with a 3-0 count then a 3-1 count. I'm all for keeping guys that are cold or whatever trying to help em come out of it. But this son of a bitch is not trying to think in any way shape or form or to help his team whatsoever.

And yeah it appears Ank may actually be a worse hitter than Thurston.
