i can dig it

hard to believe the rams would trade that pick in division unless they were utterly raping the 9ers on the deal tho

I dont see any possible way the Niners get RG3. I know Harbs loves him, but he has said Alex is his guy.

Also, Goldson is franchise tagged. $6.2M if no long term deal is made.

Im working on a spreadsheet that has the cap spending through 2017. With Goldson getting $6.2M, Niners have approximately $114M committed. Niners should be able to spend ~$133M this year with carry over from 2011.

Harylson and Spencer could both be cut saving ~$5M in cap space this season.

Numbers are by no means official. They don't include Spillman's cap numbers either... He signed 3 yrs/$6M ($1.5M GTD). Also the red color font for Crabtree indicated is a player option year. Niners should have ~$20M or so to spend for this year yet.

Im dissapointed that no Manning talk is happening from the FO. Alex wants five years, Niners want to give him three.

As I see it, Alex is the stop gap until Colin Kaepernick is ready. If Alex leaves, maybe just go with CK and sign two WRs and Carlos Rogers.

I think Shawtae Spencer and Payrs Haralson will both be released saving ~$5M in cap space this season. Than sign Vincent Jackson and Meachem. I think you would know really quickly if CK is gonna begood with Jackson, Meachem, Crabtree, Vernon, Walker to throw to

Offensive Needs: QB, OG, WR
Defensive Needs: CB, LB

Really our defense is pretty set except for resigning Dashon Goldson. I could live with not resigning Carlos Rodgers but I would like him back if we could swing it. We need more depth at LB and CB this year.

This should be another awesome awesome year on defense.

Goldson is tagged, so he is on the team. I think the draft is a great place to build a lot of the depth.

I would love to sign Nicks at OG, Randy Moss at WR (If Niners sign him, he will do well imo), resign Ginn/Morgan/Alex.

I like this blueprint if we draft a WR in the 1st round (Stephen Hill prob). Also I'm a bit wary of how much Nicks is going to go for. There are a lot of other solid Guards out there (Ben Grubbs comes to mind) that will be cheaper for the amount of talent.

I also like resigning Adam Snyder as a backup if his price tag is not so high. I love linemen that can play multiple positions.

Niners just resigned Tramaine Brock for 500k 1 year deal. This probably means they are going to let Carlos Rodgers go now.

Redskins suck! they just made the rams so much better for the years to come. With Fisher and Bradford and all those picks, they will be much better. God i hope manning doesn't go to cardinals

Yeah this has the potential to be a disastrous week for the niners between arizona being on a short list for manning and dan snyder being an idiot.

Redskins pretty much handing the Rams 3 top ten picks and a second rounder for RGIII. If the Rams will have 5 first rounders the next 3 years. The NFC West could be so gross in a couple years.

at least the Niners will get $1.6M in extra cap because of the Synder. That can go a far way in signing Rogers...

Also, Alex is close to a three year deal. Which is fine. Hopefully it is around $24M.

I think the moss signing and Snyder not being resigned yet makes it far more likely we are trying to pay a guard big money if we have to choose.

Here's to hoping the good Randy shows up with whatever he has left in the tank. I can't help but be excited. Yes he is old and yes he was pretty AIDSy the last time on the field. But it is goddamn Randy Moss.

Being a huge Brewers fan, on Facebook I am a fan of a Milwaukee Sports Radio Station.

I got extremely excited when they posted this as their status this morning:

Now that Randy Moss is in SF, are the 49ers the early favorite in the NFC??

UTR signing of CB Perish Cox who Denver cut last year because of legal woes. Talent is there but also could be another aidsy player. I love the signing though for cb depth purposes.

I think he can return too... that plus Moss, spell the end of Ginn. Could get more production from those two for cheaper price.

There not aidsy when you can cut them and not have wasted too much money.
We 86'd Edwards before the playoffs.

I've been kind of up and down on this Moss thing. First I thought about his record setting year in NE, then I thought about his time in Oakland.

Ultimately, he should be motivated and if he pulls any ****, or just can't produce anymore, we'll cut his ass and it won't cost much.

Last year when the niners cut Edwards, I was surprised since we were already thin at wideout. However, it did demonstrate that the front office, instead of trying to cover their asses when a player doesn't work out, will man up and do what needs to be done. Moss should be a better contributor if he knows he has to earn his paycheck every single week.

49ers resign Tavares Gooden. Backup LB and standout special teams player. Also I heard Cox was pretty good on special teams as well. There seems to be a huge emphasis on special teams with these utr signings while also shoring up depth pretty well. We are also keeping our options open for free agency. I think we are going to bring in at least one big free agent in and possibly two from the WR, OG and/or CB positions. Outside chance of NT but I think they are going to stick with undersized Soipooga for the time being.

I forsee the 49ers doing something like signing a top Guard (there a few that come to mind) and signing a secondary receiver like a Meachem, Manningham or Robinson.

Resign Alex Smith,
Resign Josh Morgan OR Tedd Gin.
Resign Adam Snyder as a backup

Draft a WR in the 1st round.

That would make for a decent crop of WR with no clear number 1 but many who could grow into that role and a HUGE improvement over last year. The offensive line would immediately transform into one of the best in the league across the board. This translates into a huge offensive improvement.

We have somewhere close to 20 mill in cap room so I think there would still be somewhere around 5 - 10 million left after all these signings and you are already pretty set.
