2 innings in and I don't think a single hitter has seen more than 2 pitches. WTF patience boys.

I love how overly excited fans get in baseball.

He's had what, one inning in which he's given up hits during the LDS? Out of 17?

Like a boss.

seeing the clutch-assedness from the bats tonight (particularly Piece, Raul) was glorious.

glad I started drinking early tho because this was a heartburny affair.

Does Charlie not understand that Bastardo is equally good against righties and lefties? What's the point of taking him out?

I'm really liking Ricky Botallico giving Cliff Lee pitching advice on the post-game show on CSN.

lol, you keep striking out those bros at Fantasy Camp, Ricky.

1.20 if I calculated it correctly (Going with a 3.2 FIP constant, which I think is a bit high?)

I had an arguement with my coworker about that inning this morning. I think that inning was not the inning to worry about LH RH matchups...either use Worley to start the inning or let Bastardo finish it off. I know it didnt end up mattering but you could have saved Worley or Bastardo incase we tied it in the 9th.

Exactly. Using VVR for one batter for a meaningless split advantage is such a waste.

I think he can be a huge asset to this BP through the playoffs. Last night was opportunity #1 to utilize him properly and Cholly failed.

i had a bigger problem with using Francisco to PH instead of Mayberry against a lefty.

yea i agree. francisco has no place on the field at all in the post season.

Yea that was a huge head scratcher, Mayberry finished the game in the on deck circle if I am not mistaken. But I agree using him in the 7th would have been the correct move.

This!!!!

Games coming down to managers decisions is always bad for the Phils.

Still not worried for some reason. This team inspires a ton of confidence in me. It is confusing as hell.

I don't post much, but I enjoy reading what a lot of you write about this team. I'm having trouble reading the NLDS thread with all the nonsense in there. Just wanted to stop in and say, Go Phils!

Series threads are basically all Phillies fans when they win. Then when they lose a game it turns into a long conversation about the three stories a year of bad behavior of Phillies fans means that every Phillies fan is an awful human being. After this many years in a row of these threads we are pretty used to it.

Charlie still had two long guys in the pen when he took out bastardo. Getting Tony some confidence wasn't a terrible thing. Especially when a walk would have brought up Albert with two on.
