He was way out of line imo, I live about 6 miles from the stadium and can say that I wouldnt have ventured out to go to that game.
also, earlier I read "Rendell" as "Goodell" and was like, 'whoa!'

I thought Rachel Maddow ranting about how a fan throwing waffles on the ice could be classified as "cheating" was dumb, but then I heard what Rendell said about the game being called on SportsCenter tonight.

I mean wow, just wow. Just how out of touch is he? There is no way that game should have been played.

What did he say exactly? Rendell is always good for some lulz.

I've been in NY the past few days so I'm not sure when the snow actually ended in Philly, but original forecasts were calling for snow until at least the early morning, and at 3am last night it was still coming down sideways in NYC. That would have given them less than 24 hours to get it all removed, not to mention it would probably take longer than that to get the roads in good enough shape for the fans/players to be able to show up. You're probably right that it would have been fine, but Tuesday seems like less of a stretch than Monday.

"This is in no way, shape, or form a blizzard."

If the snow in Downtown Philadelphia was even half of what it was in Midtown Manhattan, all I have to say is wat.

Also, how would you feel if you were a fan who paid a bunch of money to go to this game and all of a sudden couldn't because you were snowed in? Not to mention that some of the players most likely live in some of the areas where the snow bands were the heaviest.

I was listening to the Fox 29 clip live and couldnt believe what IU was hearing. I get his point though, football is an all weather sport, but Im sorry sir driving is not an all weather sport.

He ranted about how we have a good subway system.....uhhhh, lol wat? Our subway system is beyond atrocious and is not convenient for most people.

Rendell went on to call into 97.5 and say some even more insane comments about how we are "wussies" then something about the chinese that I didnt understand.

This is his second rant, some of it makes no sense to me.

Doing Calculus?

Oh yeah the Chinese one was the one they played on SportsCenter last night. If for once I had the chance to grill a politician on television, I'd like to have given Rendell **** about this. I also like how he was telling Bolaris he was wrong about the accumulation totals, lol. They did basically politely point out how wrong he was on SportsCenter wrt the accumulation when they said that 19 inches were recorded at the airport which is just below the entire seasonal average in one storm no less. Give me a break, Ed.

[rant/]I'm behind Rendell. We are a bunch of wusses. Seriously, they have played games in the same conditions in Chicago, Buffalo, New England and Denver. This is the first game that has ever been postponed for weather. Was there some biblical storm of the century or did we have 3 or 4 of these just last winter?

Sure the subway is pretty inconvenient for anyone not living in the city. But if you really had to or really wanted to go to the game walking a couple of miles to the subway would not have killed you. 20 years ago that's what the fans would have done.

I like his point (one he can only make now that he isn't running for anything). The Chinese would have found a way to get there and be productive along the way because they are willing to due the hard work. Philly used to be a tough as nails get anything done at any cost city. Now we are so lazy and so set in our ways that we can't be inconvenienced to get to a game. If we can't drive to our tailgate lot and get our spot then they should postpone the game.

[/rant]

Sorry, just kind of ticked of people going crazy every time there is a major snow storm.

The biggest culprit here is NBC for flexing a game that blows simply to get Michael Vick and possibly Favre on TV. If they flexed one of the other 6 games that were more important and more competitive this is never a problem.

Just really hope we get the #2 seed now. Having to play 3 games in a 13 day span would just be brutal.

well

could be worse. now Andy will yell at them one more time before the playoffs so after this exhibition game we should be good for the WC round.

any word on the playing situation this week, as in how much starters will be playing or playing at all?

Isn't the #3 seed a foregone conclusion? If so, this week will effectively be the bye week, no?

yes

yes

Vick, Asante, and DeSean will all be out, there will probably be others who get only limited time.

We are sitting our starting QB and we are still gonna have the better QB on the field.

So I guess we'd rather the Bears win and we play the Giants? Green Bay looks pretty scary right now.
