We will win this draft. I cannot envision a scenario barring catastrophic injuries where this isn't a great draft for us. Take any of Exum, Wiggins, Embiid, Parker, trade the pick down for more picks...there are so many options with 2 top 10 picks. It cannot come fast enough.

In 5 years they better be damn good.

It seems like the Bucks have little to no interest in Wiggins. So the Sixers will most likely end up with him. If the Sixers do take Wiggins, I don't see them taking Gordon at 10. At some point their going to have to get someone that can score. That's why I personally wanted Parker over Wiggins because he can fill it up... immediately. It will be interesting to see what they do. I would love to see them make a move with their 10 and possibly package a few other things to move up and take Randle. Randle might go 5th or 6th but he could easily be the best player to come out of this draft.

Lol no. Randle the best player in this draft? I don't really want a part of Parker either. This team will be playing D and running like crazy in a few years. I think nobody is a better fit than Wiggins. Add a couple shooters in this draft and next year and we are solid.

so just pencil in #3 Dante Exum. Sounds like Embiid's injury is bad (stress fracture)

This. This team is going to be reshaped via one draft more than probably any other Sixer team we will see in our lifetime. Pretty exciting.

These MCW rumors have me leaning toward Hinkie doing a lot of stuff on Thurs. If I had to guess I think he really wants to get both Exum and Embiid and will use MCW to land pick 7 or 8 and try and use that + Thad(or the 10th pick) to jump ahead of Boston (don't see Ainge passing on Embiid at 6). Last year he saw Nerlens fall and saw an asset undervalued so he pounced on it. If Embiid falls to like 5 I imagine he will try and do the same. This is assuming they think Embiid isn't Oden obv. I wouldn't be surprised with anything though. Hinkie has so many weapons in his arsenal to try and manipulate the draft to get who he wants this year.

Theres also the Lebron component- I hear local radio is going nuts but there is a realistic possibility here. Basically, if Bron and Melo decide they want to play together, without taking major pay cuts while also having pieces around them they are going to play for the 6ers. Apparently Bron wants what Duncan has - a good front office/ownership/coaching situation that can allow him to play for championships into his late 30s. What organization is better set up to give him that than the 6ers? It's probably a longshot but fun to think about anyway.

Its sad that its such a long shot because it really is the best option for lebron/melo to team up. No other team is even close when you consider offering front office/coach/young pieces/salary cap space

embiid + smart is much more likely than embiid + exum imo, more realistic to see them being able to turn mcw+thad into a pick that grabs marcus smart than moving up to get 2 out of the top 4 prospects.

also the lebron rumors are dumb and not a good fit for anyone, he is 29 and the sixers are building with a bunch of 19 year old kids, he is too old to wait for the sixers rookies to be good enough to compete for a championship.

however there is a 25 year old who will be a free agent in a couple years that grew up in maryland and is pretty good at basketball. i ate at a mcdonald's in oklahoma once and i'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it's gonna be slightly easier to convince a guy to leave OKC than miami.

It's not about convincing LeBron to leave Miami. It's really as simple as if Wade opts in to his contract LeBron is probably going to leave. It's just a matter of convincing him that Philadelphia presents him the best opportunity to compete for championships for both the life of this upcoming contract and the one he will sign after taking him into his late 30s.

And, again, if Bron and Melo decide they really want to play together they are going to choose where they want to play and Philly is really the only place that is a large market that can afford to give (close to) 2 max contracts.

So embiid+noel+lebron+melo+mcw isn't the favorite to win the ship?

embiid is out like 4-6 months, noel hasn't played a single minute in the nba. as good as their defensive potential is there's no way 2 rookies and a sophomore make good enough rotations to make up for the hilarity that would be carmelo anthony's half-hearted attempts to guard SGs and SFs.

the window where guys like noel, mcw, #3, and #10 will be ready to make major contributions to a championship contending team just doesn't match up with the lebron and melo trying to get rings in their prime window at all.

Lebron just about by himself made Miami and Cleveland into title contenders/favorites. There is a ton of talent already on the sixers along with available cap space to get more. I have a hard time believing of the 76ers got both lebron and melo they wouldn't be able to field the favorite to ship by using the #3, #10, and free agency

if you don't understand why lebron is not an optimal signing for the sixers' rebuilding plans and why the tank-mode d-league sixers are nowhere even close to being an optimal destination for lebron to win championships in the next 3 years, i really don't know what to say.
Philadelphia 76ers Quote

LOL @ LeBron not being "an optimal signing". You think the 6ers would say "no thanks" if he said he wanted to play for them? And gtfo with "not an optimal destination to win championships in the next 3 years". Like, do you understand that wherever he goes in the east that team becomes the favorite to win it all and why that is? Hinkie and the team chose the tank-a-palooza route because that was the best way they saw to build a contender in the future. If LeBron decided to come here, they wouldn't continue on that course. They would alter their course and go into a win now mentality, and I have full faith they could execute and surround LeBron with the pieces needed to play in the finals every single year that he would be signed here.

Yep, awesome. So happy with Embiid. Really wanted him.

Possibility that we binked HOFer. Also a possibility that he'll break down and be out of the league obv, but still, gotta swing for the fences.

Maybe bring him along really really slowly a la Noel, then draft Okafor next year and pwn the league for years.
