Trust me NC - I certanily was not looking for your endorsement. Even though your choice of avatars is stellar - your member handle suggests you are the same type of punk as SH.

I'm very unimpressed by Wisconsin. I think we dominate start to finish. My guess is we win by 20.

I feel very nervous about the Iowa game, though.

long way to iowa. i think we're on the same page w/ wisc. osu should win this game 85% of the time as played imo.

someone recently asked me what % chance i gave osu to run the table to get to the title game, and to win.

remaining games

@ wisc
vs purdue
@ minnesota
vs penn state
@ iowa
vs mich

to me that is still a lot of "anything can happen" type football. @ iowa is nerveracking considering michigan is the following week. who tf put that schedule together?! finishing the season vs. iowa-away and mich... thats as brutal a finish as anyone in the country could ask for. for that reason, i still feel that the odds for osu to run these 6 games are still < 50%. my reply was 35-40%.

however, for some reason i feel that if they do get to the title game, they will actually win this time. just a feeling. doesn't matter, as stated i feel they will not make it

Purdue and Minnesota shouldn't come close. PSU is one of those games where anything could happen, but we should win. Same thing with Michigan.

God our schedule is so weak.

Yes, I'm totally mindless. That's why I fell into the downward spiral that is drugs, rooting for Michigan, and typing vowels of rivals' names because it's convention.

Normally PSU is pretty decent and PSU Iowa and Mich all tend to play OSU pretty well and to put them all in a row at the end of the season is brutal if you ask me.

For some reason I'm not even worried. If we win cool, but not like this team felt like a manifest destiny situation to me for some reason.

At least Wisconsin saved us the trouble of getting embarrassed in the BCS Championship game.

It's really kind of a shame you guys don't have a GREEEEEAR to bitch about the Vest punting down 10 with 6:30 to go.

I totally agree with that. He gave them the ball on their 35 instead of our 35 if we had missed. And of course they got to our 35 on the first play anyway!! Not a good job of coaching.

TP REALLY struggled. He looked bad. Obviously his leg was still bad - but his passing looked horrible. Take the first drive of the second half away and it felt like he reverted to last year.

Did anyone think both our lines would look THAT bad? Total melt down. At least I will get to see them play in their bowl game!!!

i really went into the 2006 game thinking that osu team was unbeatable. huge reality check there.

2010 wisconsin(the team) is exactly what I expected them to be, and OSU hasn't exactly shown themselves to be worldbeaters at this point. any game @wisconsin is losable.

nothing tops '97(98?) MSU though...nothing.

so while UM is still by every account still building, and osu by every account (i live in northeast ohio, i know/hear) was supposed to break this year off a proper chunk, osu losing tonight was okay?

people really, really, really don't understand what it is to be a michigan fan in ohio...osu fans are deluded beyond belief.

It was pretty similar feeling to me. Also add in 2008 USC. 2006 Florida started out with a lot of hope too.

There is silver lining. This team is not good enough to win a MNC. Not even close. Same basic mistakes that keep us from reaching that next level. I'd prefer we didn't play like ass, but it wasn't mistakes, it was just being worked. And being worked by a team that at best is good, not elite.

The good news is, the season has one thing left to care about, and that will be redeeming. If we ever want to take things to the next level, we need to improve our lines, and our coordinators for that suck. It might take an epic meltdown for anything to change. Either that or wait out the next 4 years until Tressel moves to AD and we bring in a bunch of new coaches.

Also, pretty much all fans are deluded.

i also went to the 06 game thinking it was a lock. i think i had the bigger reality check tho - i had basically written a year long blog in a fantasy football league w/ a bunch of my buddies (mostly osu alum) and i had pretty much crowned them the greatest college fb team ever. oh and the game, jan 8th, was on my birthday

since i was yet to go to osu when bill burke (from my high school in ohio no less) and michigan state ruined osu's dreams and natl title hopes, i still put 2006 florida as my #1 disappointment.

for a moment last night vs wisc i felt it, but rehashing fla makes me realize how much worse 06 was. i booked 2 hotels rooms in the glendale/tempe area before the season started only to leave that game in the 3rd quarter.

yes. fan is short for "fanatic"

although i'd agree your avg osu fan has unreasonable expectations.

TC you are wrong - there are 2 things to care about imo 1) beating michigan 2) rooting against whoever plays msu

i do not think msu will go undefeated. they certainly can, but i think its 65/35 that they will not.

here's their remaining games:

@ northwestern
@ iowa
vs minnesota
vs purdue
@ penn state

i think they can lose any of the away games (yes, even NW who is 5-1) and i think they will lose @ iowa (and if this happens, it makes osu @ iowa that much tougher)

i also think msu can lose at home against purdue, esp if they are looking ahead to penn state/undefeated season.

TC - what's up w/ this 4 more years of tressel talk? did i miss something? why wouldn't he continue to coach in 4 years? he's still very young. i know he's said he has no plans to be coaching jopa style, but heck he's only 57 years old. will he retire @ 61? i always figured 65??

4 years isn't that far away ----- who tf is going to replace this guy?
