I'm fine with no Pryor.

Braxton will be a little rough around the edges, but this will just mean he will be really good sooner. Gives us a chance in 2012 and going forward with the sanctions.

LOL, tO$U will be decimated the entire time Braxton is there. Not only will they not be allowed to play in bowl games, they will have like half as many scholarships.

How many scholarships they gonna be docked for this season?

They might be out a bowl game this year (although will they actually act that fast?), but I doubt things are *that* bad.

In 3 years, that's a different story.

NCAA better be investigating that Braxton arm tat. What are the odds that thing's a gift? 70%? 90%?

I mean to try to retain the one atom of credibility it has left, the NCAA has to crush tO$U, and fast. They were already a laughingstock when they took like 5 years to punish USC, and they have to be cognizant of growing public awareness that they are one very small step above FIFA and the IOC.

But how much damage can they actually do? Ban the whole program? That's not happening this year. Sure, there could be a bowl ban. And you might see some people run off. The punishment may very well come quickly, but the effects of it will take at least some time to feel during the regular season.

Plus, you guys are still pretty terrible. If we can get past Toledo, I'm not scared. We might get beat by Nebraska or Wisconsin or Indiana, but not a trash school like Michigan.

pryor's lawyer sticking to the current theme:

Pryor's attorney, Larry James, said Wednesday that the CFL is a genuine possibility for the ex-Buckeye.

"Yeah, it's like I told (the Roughriders). My house is not for sale, but at the right price, it's on the market," James said.

In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

That plus what looks like willful blindness in the automobile area and whatever additional Pryor violations the university is going to self report and you get a very grumpy NCAA.
It has to look better than the alternative (which is what we did last year). Am I the only one who sees this? Would it not be worse if we kept him on the team? This is what got us in this mess. Maybe brownie points is the wrong word but at least the NCAA can look at us and be like "about time".

I've read that it is confirmed that it is Antonio's brother, not Antonio himself.

also, lol milo. i'd ask if that was what you actually meant to say, but it clearly was.

clearly you were proud of them kicking off a qb who cheated BEFORE (omg that's so awesome) he practiced, participated and lead the team.
You are trying to twist what I meant. I am not proud they kicked him off. I never said that. I am glad they finally did. I honestly thought OSU was going to try to keep Pryor regardless and go down in flames with him.

Yes he received improper benefits before he practiced, participated and lead the team. It would have been the same thing this year which would have been a very big FU to the NCAA if OSU allowed that. That would have obviously been very bad. Everything is out in the open now. OSU kicked him off. He should have been suspended last year but wasn't. That is why Tressel is fired.

I honestly can't understand why you don't see that kicking him off isn't better than the alternative which would be keeping him on the team. That is what I was trying to say.

FWIW they haven't kicked him off the team. He has the same status he's had for the last couple of months: suspended for the first five games. He's actually not eligible for the supplemental draft unless Ohio State changes his status.

If I had to predict right now, my guess would be that Ohio State will be 7 point favorites going into the Michigan game this November. Obviously we ARE still pretty terrible (as everyone knows our defense is still gonna be horrible this year), but we definitely have a chance. Pryor is not replaceable THIS year. Losing a veteran senior QB makes Ohio State beatable this year, especially given that the game is in Ann Arbor.

In 2007, we had no chance cuz Henne and Hart were injured. 2008-10 we had no chance because we sucked hardcore. 2011, we have a chance. In fact they should start printing out UM vs OSU 2011 t-shirts in Ann Arbor right now with big bold letters on the front saying, "WE HAVE A CHANCE!" I bet they would sell out quickly.

Braxton (please God let it be him and not Lolbauserman), will be effectively a sophomore in that game. He's been practicing all spring. It won't be a big deal. If a moron like Pryor could be fine after less time starting, I'm sure Braxton will be fine. Obviously Pryor is less variance, but I'm not that concerned.

You should be able to keep everyone under 60 this year. Part of that might be running Brady-ball on offense which will eat more clock.

Yeah, the whole 'he entered early, he's really a sophomore' thing is pretty bogus.

Nope. I expect vast improvement. They will be top half in yardage allowed at worst.

I admire your optimism.

I fully expect Fickell to play Uber-Tresselball with either Miller or Bauserman (lol) whenever he can get away with it which should be most games. Sadly, until I see otherwise I lump the Michigan game in that group.
