Sparty being Sparty was the only thing that saved us. I would be shocked if we win more than eight games this year, the defense is terrible and couldn't beat a block to save their lives. Note to Weis, when Clausen opens the game 10 for 10 and leads the team to two touchdown drives, keep doing it until they stop you. If he calls for another Wildcat pass to Clausen, it's going to be hard to contain my rage.

Lol. We have a scewjob against a Mich and a near bungle against MSU. I am not very excited about this team. I think with better coaching they'd be NC material.

I think ND still has a decent chance at going 10-3 but I'm not sure if that will make most ND fans happy.

Ah, hold on a second. We've had two wild games cumulatively decided by seven points. If both games had swung our way, you wouldn't be writing the above post. It follows that you shouldn't be writing it if only one (or none) of those two games breaks our way. Really, the last two weeks have been all variance.

And then, there is a rough with a smooth thing that you have to consider when you assess the play of the offense. All of the skill position players have progressed hugely relative to last year; the offensive line is playing so much better; the range of play calling is so much more diverse and effective. Evidently, the guy can coach an offense. Evidently he can recruit.

I'll agree that evidently he knows **** all about defensive play and makes questionable decisions in terms of clock management and overall strategy. But this team is better than it was last year, which was a better team than the year before. I feel like the last two weeks don't offer any definitive reason to keep or fire him. If he is to go, it is for bigger picture stuff far above and beyond these two mad ****ing games.

lol, I'd snap your hand off for a 10-3 season right now. Like, ****ing rip your arm out of its socket for it.

Ha!

Well ND's schedule still looks ridiculously easy and I'm in the "They're gonna beat USC" camp.

I'm not all convinced he's gotten nearly enough out of that offense.

As a point of reference, I can't believe MSU's offense had a bigger edge over ND as ND's offense had over MSU, and they moved the ball as well. I appreciate it's an emotional game and MSU sold out, but I was not impressed with their defense and I think it went beyond ND making them look bad.

At least we can pencil BC in as a win, they put up a whopping 54 yards today.

Syracuse was a nailed on win this time last year.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. And I know that the fact we've put up 67 points in two games doesn't invalidate your argument. It's just kind of hard to accept it when we've put up the numbers we have so far this season.

Hey did you guys see that Washington beat USC with Ty's players?

(my pony is probably slow since this is an incredibly obvious joke but in case it hasn't been said yet here it is)

I guess anyone can win with Ty's players except for Ty.

If I were a Husky fan I'd be worried about the He Left the Cupboard Bare Tyme Bomb in year 3 when they will have no alternative to going 3-9 with losses to Purdue, Navy, Air Force, etc. and a bunch of 30 point losses to others.

lol @ screwjob/me trolling this thread/msu being msu

please win out ND, and get some announcers who are less fanboys/clausen cuckolds (just came up with that on the spot b/c I went to UM and I'm awesome), the one time a year I watch ND at home is more than enough.

ND announcers are obviously awful, but the ABC crew for the Michigan/ND crew was way more over the top for Forcier than the NBC crew was for Clausen. And Clausen deserves it more, since he is better and played better.

Shocking you'd miss that since you are so unbiased and all.

Clausen's done a complete 180 and he has been awesome, admittedly.

But, what Forcier did last week as a true freshman is way more impressive. This is Clausen's third full year, he's just finally meeting/exceeding expectations.

My bad Tate Montana.

The announcer discussion was 90/10 Forcier/Clausen, and Clausen was better. It was a joke. No Michigan fans should complain about an announcing crew talking up Clausen, since he is awesome and all.

Tate's still a freshman, he's still going to make mistakes, but you're the one that's biased if you can't see how great his performance last week was. You'd be hard pressed to find many true freshmen that have performed better in big games.

Well I know Clausen was better in that game, and I don't think that makes up for the 90/10 difference in announcing suck offness.

This entire discussion is ridiculous though, the main point is no Michigan fan should not complain about Clausen getting talked up by announcers since they hardly mentioned him during the Michigan game when he outplayed Tate Montana.
