I filmed coaches video in college and I can say without a doubt this situation is ****ed up.
there was not a single practice in the 3 years that I did video that we didn't know the weather conditions for that day's practice. We learned on day one not to be a hero and hang out on those lifts just to keep filming when the weather got bad. The coaches understood this and I never met a coach who would expect anything otherwise. Even if the coaches did want practice filmed despite the weather conditions, the video coordinator has to stand up to the coaches if nothing else for liability issues, let alone for the fact that he's responsible for the safety conditions of the volunteer/minimum wage earning students he employs. Lets not forget that ND has a perfectly viable indoor facility for just such an occasion.
nothing about this makes sense, and even though this kid doesn't seem to be the brightest of the bunch seeing as how he's tweeting about these conditions and knew full well what to expect going into practice, somebody is responsible for sending him up on that lift and/or not warning him of imminant weather conditions and telling him to come down. This got by way too many people and pretty much everybody involved in organizing practice some somewhat responsible.
