Makes sense. I'd do that for not only tonight, but tomorrow also. Give KRod 2 days.

I'm gonna be honest...It has been so entertaining listening to Francesca the past few days. I missed him when I was at school and I get home at the perfect time for him to snap and every caller being depressed, and it not being Mets fans.

Yeah. Putz has already thrown 16 innings in 15 games himself. I kinda hope both him and K-Rod only get used for one inning each this weekend. Hopefully the offense can get up on the Pirates and we'll see some Stokes and Takahashi action.

I'm getting the feeling the Mets want absolutely no part of Billy Wagner. You will see him traded or released before you see him back on the mound in a Mets uniform

Why do you think that? If he's healthy why wouldn't they use him?

Francessa asked Omar yesterday about the possibility of Billy Wagners return and the way he asnwered the questions made it seem like they have no plans for him at all. You're not gonna take an elite closer and make him a 6th inning man.

Well, he'd surely pitch the 7th. Followed by Putz and K-Rod in the 8th and 9th. If it's a close race (near certainty) and it's August or September and Wagner is 100% healthy I can't see them not going with that type of bullpen. You can't trade him at that point and you don't want to release him so that the Braves or Phillies or Cards or Dodgers could sign him for the minimum.

I'll have to see if I can find the audio and listen to that interview.

Why not? It's not like you're convincing him to sign a contract and do it. He's your employee, you use him as you wish.

And Billy seems on board:

“I’m going to get back,” Wagner told the Mets’ Web site. “I’m not going to get any saves. But I’d like to help. That could be some bullpen.”

Of course he is on board. If he wants another contract he will pitch and he will pitch well.

i highly doubt anyone would trade for wagner before hes even able to pitch, and if they were going to release him they would have done it already

Francessa monologues that were absolutely killing the Yankees this week were hilarious. i usually don't say anything bad about him b/c i chill with his niece and his newphews graduated high school with me but damn he's been really bad the past week with the yanks losing.

I listen to Mike whenever I get a chance. I really do enjoy listening to him for the entertainment factor. I do get angry at times but thats just sports radio. I go into it with the mentality that I'm smarter than everyone that calls in and they were put on this world for my enjoyment.
