jerry is an idiot. but apparently this seems to be the case with managers all over the league, perhaps they are unavoidable

i get far too emotional with each game, ive decided its unhealthy for me to watch this team slump.

ugh wright and beltran just 2 hr now in what, 150 or so abs?

just typing that makes me so angry

This series against the Marlins epitomized our season.

Last night's loss felt horrible, today's felt brutal.

Their is more than enough blame to go around. Johan is the only person I do not blame. The more I watch him pitch, the more he impresses me. David Wright had just an awful game, Jerry made some dubious managerial decisions and WTF JJ Putz???

The team has tomorrow to lick their wounds and then they take the team bus tomorrow afternoon to Philly. Even though its only May, this team needs to win at minimum two out of three.

i wouldnt go that far. its been a very unlucky stretch, they will come out of it eventually

i just cant keep watching us run bad right now tho. especially against the marlins.

Does that make sense? Castro had 2 hits today and Josh Johnson throws hard and Castro wasnt sitting in the bullpen and cold coming in against a hard thrower. It would be a shame if we cut our best catcher when scheider comes back from the dl.

As for jerry, the guy has had one or two questionable decisions every game now, he is legitimately costing this teams games.
Just playing the percentages:

Manuel allows it. Just like Willie does.
Murphy the other day swinging 2-0 with 2 on and 0 outs down by 5 pissed me off. I dont care who the **** is up, give him the god damn take sign here

As far as xs and os go, manuel might even be worse than willie. he has mismanaged the bullpen worse than willie, which i didnt think was possible. and he overmanages all the time

castro is probably gonna ask for his release, and i dont blame him. this was disgusting

and i agree, jerry is now definitely costing us games

Derek Lowe is 2-1 with a 3.10 ERA in 4 starts

I cant believe Wilpon gave minaya a 3 year extension

alex cora hitting a game-tying single that becomes an inning-ending groundout because the 2B is running to cover the bag when Reyes is running?

There's definitely been bad luck. But bad luck and ****ty play have not been mutually exclusive.

Jeff, move to South Korea. Then it becomes impossible to watch at all lol

I said it earlier. If Jerry doesn't get this team to the playoffs, he's fired.

by unlucky i didnt just mean we "should" be winning these games or that we got jobbed or anything

reyes and wright slumping is quite unlucky, running bad, or whatever you wanna call it. those are arguably our 2 most valuable players (bc of age) and they can single handedly dictate how well this team does. that they are off to slow starts, is unlucky, and should reverse soon enough

also those of you who actually believe wright is "unclutch" must clearly have a short memory span. ya he was bad last season and off to a slow start now. despite that his career BA and overall numbers with runners on/risp is over 300. he was quite "clutch" in his first 3 years. again i consider this, unlucky

also getting delgado back would be nice

Of course Bobby V has just about zero incentive to come back to MLB.

i believe japan let him go because of money this year iirc?

not the managers fault imo, got to put it all on minaya. yay he fixed the bullpen but the rest of the team is ass. especially when he could have added Abreu and Orlando Hudson for 9million combined.

i agree with this partly, but manual has been beyond awful this year

warming up feliciano and then not bringing him in to face the lefty when green was strugging, letting green give up the hr, and then bringing feliciano in the next inning against 2 righties

warming up relievers and then sitting them constantly.

Using putz and krod etc and stuff in situations to "keep them fresh" so that the whole bullpen is on pace to pitch over 80 games each

Benching Castillo and Church 3 times a week early in the season when they were the only 2 people on the team hitting at the time

Accepting the no sliding, getting picked off, bad baserunning as "things will get better". **** that, bench someone for it

The pinch hit for castro last night was the last straw. I hope he rips manual publicly since he is obviously gonna get released in a few days

manual sucks ass

also re manual

giving your hitter the green light on 2-0 or first pitch constantly when their are 2 runners on, you are losing by a few runs, and the opposing pitcher just walked the previous batter

through 21 games

putz made 47 appearances last year coming off an injury, his 11 so far put him on pace for 85 this season
sean green is on pace for 85
feliciano is on pace for 93

i dont mind him using the pen, but he unnecesarily uses certain guys too much. then you release rubber arms like oday.

yes part of the issue is the starting pitching blowing has caused the need for it. but part of it is him being cautious when a starter has a good start. a start is allowed to pitch into the 7th or 8th inning moran

Omar and Manuel both need to go. Bring back Bobby V to manage and a computer to be GM.

Great stat: In Johan's 5 starts this year, the Mets are 5 for 51 batting with RISP.

I remember Manuel's big change last year after Willie's firing was allowing starters to go longer than 6 innings or 100 pitches when they were playing well to take pressure off the bullpen.

Now, he has reverted back to the approach that had us getting beat early last season also.

Is Manuel that much better than Randolph? They seem to have the same managerial style. Only difference is that Manuel seems to have a bit more personality than Willie.
