"Better get your minds right" or "We're not having this bull****" are my 2 favorites so far.

Can somebody give me a quick background on why we are happy about the Norv hire? I don't follow the rest of the league very much and I feel like everything I've read in SE about Norv was negative. Is that typical "sort by fourth down decision making" SE analysis that completely ignores everything else he brings to the table? Thanks.

May be wrong, but as a OC he is solid, while as a HC he is awful.

As an OC Turner has produced 5 rushing title for a running back(E. Smith 3 times, L. Tomlinson and R. Williams). His offense is based on running the ball first to open up the passing game. Unlike Musgrave, Turner's offenses have proven to work. Hell, Cleveland finished 11th in passing last year with the QB merry-go-round and only 1 proven WR.

Here are a couple of stories about Turner which should help ease your concerns if he can coach:

This was my understanding as well. He had a bunch of 1 and dones as SDs HC but lol sample size. He was OC for some pretty outstanding offenses. I think it was Aikman and some other good QB who have spoken highly of his offensive prowess.

Some turd on the radio today said the vikes may be interested in Sanchez. PLLLLLLLLLLEASE NOOOOOO SANCHIZE!

Lol I heard the sanchez stuff too, I can't even imagine how that rumor came up. I would hope that there is no one on earth who thinks butt fumble is anything more than a backup

Same could have been said for Ponder for years, and he continued to get shots as starter...

Updated cap situation for the Vikings. 6th best in cap space with potential of more cap space as well:

Matt Cassel has voided his contract and is a FA. He saves the Vikings 3.7 million in cap space. The only QB on the roster who is under contract is...... wait for it....

Meh, one of them needed to go, may as well be the more expensive and older one.

Cassel can leverage for a better deal with the Vikings. To me the route I would go is trade for Brian Hoyer from CLE. In a short period he showed he played well in Turner's offense last year prior to blowing out his ACL. You can get him on the cheap(6th or 7th rd pick) and has a minimum salary contract.

I'd be on board with that if his price is really that low and he'll be ready for the regular season.

Vikings have released information on their entire coaching staff:
http://www.dailynorseman.com/2014/2/...coaching-staff

Prefier, Davidson and Stewart were retained.

Since Kluwe did not like this news he and his lawyer have decided to sue the team and I am sure the NFL:

I remember during this whole thing it was never about money for Chris...... that's a good one.

I know this will upset most of you but the Vikings have voided the contract of Charles Johnson saving close to a million in cap space. I understand the outrage which will follow.

Erin Henderson has been released from his contract. Saves Vikings $2 million.

They're starting to clean house. Any reason to expect them to keep Ponder?

Cassel voided his 2014 option.

That makes Ponder the only QB under contract, so I bet they keep him as a backup anyway. Otherwise we'd need to draft/sign 3 guys.

Releasing Ponder would cost the Vikings 3.2 million in dead cap space. That won't happen. Trade him or he is our backup.

Are there any suckers out there who would actually give us something for him? It seems to me that his contract would make him a negative asset.

he is obviously a negative asset at that price. MM is delusional as always.

Look I am all for cutting him but will the Vikings take a $3.2 million cap hit for it? History dictates Speilman won't cut him for that price. Will he be our starter for 2014? No chance. Will he try to trade him? Of course he will. Besides Cassel the FA QB list is putrid. Does that mean Ponder could be traded as insurance? Sure...... maybe SEA can take another of our retreads.
