SarcasticRat,

I was there too... did you think Cuddyer should have caught the balls in the 3rd and 9th innings? It really seemed like he was getting terrible jumps on them.

And holy **** was that a fast game. 2:06.

I watched the condensed replay on FSN and thought Cuddy should have had the one in the 9th for sure; or rather Span would have gotten it. Don't remember the other one. And that first Crede play in the 9th was awesome. It might be that no one else in MLB makes that play.

i think span catches both of them in his back pocket. wasn't for a lack of effort on cuddyer's part though. i don't know if it's that he just doesn't move that well while looking up at the ball or what. and the first one was a bad jump for sure.

it was a great play. i don't know if you can really say that no one else makes it - that's tough to know since there's nothing physically preventing anyone else, but it was a very very good play. maybe the best play i can remember a twin making this year.

also, lol sportscenter. crede's is #8? not important or unexpected, i guess, but if you think, say, #3 or #4 is a better play than #8, you're just flatout wrong.

when fsn shows a "classic" twins game, why is it always from last year or last month? i saw those games just ... well, last year or last month.

why not show games we haven't seen for years, or maybe never seen at all? '91 or '87 or, even better, '65?

Yeah, give me some Rod Carew games please.

(It's probably because FSN doesn't have the rights to older games. Not sure when they started broadcasting Twins games. This is just a guess)

Yeah that was hilarious. According to Dick, there has never been a bad Twins player, merely ones that didn't live up to their potential.

Bases loaded, 1 out, D. Young up to bat...

I don't even need to finish the story

Edit: BAHAHAHAHAHA! Delmon Young's nickname is "Delmontello" because he looks like a ninja turtle!

and now he just missed a play in foul territory in LF. Hard play, but makable. I was just thinking how he's been playing an OK LF as of late...

maybe not routine, but a play a major leaguer makes almost every time. i mean, he overran the ball. it was pretty funny.

edit: ps it's atrocious that they didn't call the ball michaels missed an error. i mean, why does losing it in the lights make it not an error?

Damn that was ugly. Probably the hardest Delmon has hit a ball all year.

Astros manager might strangle Michaels when he returns to the dugout based on his reaction to that.

DY play was only hard because he had a long sprint and the ball landed 5-6 feet from the fence. Hard to time that slowdown just right so he doesn't run through the side fence. It was a hard play. Alot of guys make it. *shrug*

He makes up for it by robbing a 9th inning HR. lolz.

Slowey 10-2. ALL STAR!!1!!

i mean, say it's up in the lights but he gives a great effort and you can't really tell that he lost it and it hits him in the glove and he drops it. they call it an error, right?

so how is it not an error when he does an even worse job and kind of pusses out and shields his face and misses it completely? why does "losing it in the lights/sun/dome" get you off the hook for an error? does "bad hop" get you off the hook? (not unless it's really bad and obvious).

if you look at the official definition, an error is supposed to be a play that is normally made that isn't made. now you might miss it for any number of reasons...bad hop, lost it, just lost concentration or slipped or whatever, but it's an error if it's a play that should be made that isn't.

I just want to say that tonight during the game one of the Astros announcers said that Erstad was in the line-up because "he's a great interleague hitter. Got a .322 lifetime interleague average" dead seriously. To which, Jim Deshaies thankfully said "Yeah he's got a great interleague swing..." tongue in cheek.

Bill Brown is normally not terrible but how can you possibly say someone is a "great interleague hitter"???? Like Erstad changes his approach or sees the interleague ball better? lol. God damn that is stupid.
