Well, I guess we know why Adelman doesn't play Ellington. Dreadful.

Nice job by AR.

Meh for AR. It was all in garbage time.

A throwaway game as you might expect with everything against them tonight:

- No Love
- Back to back game
- Decent opponent
- Place Wolves have been terribad against LAL at

Too many factors working against them. That said, the Wolves were flat and timid all game. The Lakers bigs imposed their will. Pek was out manned tonight as Darko was his usual stiff self and Williams didn't had the height to contend with Gasol or Bynum.

If I were Adelman I would tell them to completely forget this game even happened. Seriously, no need to even break anything down. Wipe the memory clean and start thinking about a very beatable PHO team.

All that^

Jim P just reminded me - there was a bright spot in this game. Martell looked good. If he can play something like he has the past two games from here on out, we have an avg to above avg wing on this team. He's done it before, so assuming he's finally healthy, I think it might be sustainable. He should be taking all Wes' minutes.

he helps us win every win we have, because he takes minutes away from players who are far worse

We did pretty well when he was injured.

We do better when he gets benched in the 4th quarter or 2nd half when his mind is not on the game.

He's way to inconsistent to depend on most of the time. Adelman knows this - he takes advantage of it when Beasley is running hot (rarely this year) and sits him on the bench when Beasley has mentally checked out of the game (what usually happens late in games). I dont know how to look it up, but his minutes per game are way lower this year than in the past, and for good reason.

Trading him for a draft choice is a net positive even for this year imo. One thing I do know how to look up is WS/48 and PER. Check out his advanced stats: http://www.basketball-reference.com/...beaslmi01.html

League avg WS/48 is ~0.99. Notice his PER has declined every year he's been in the league. His TS% is a career low this year.

I say if we can't find a trade for Beasely, sign him to the qualifying offer and try to trade him next year. We'll have cap space. What's the point of letting an asset walk?

P.S. Spending Glen Taylor's money not mine.

Is he really an asset with an $8+ mil contract? I'd rather try to spend that money elsewhere.

If nothing else he becomes "Michael Beasely's Expiring Contract"

People do want him with a $6.2M contract

Unless you have big plans with all that cap space this offseason (you don't, nobody really does except maybe NJ) you sign Beasley to that offer. There's no point in sitting way below the cap when you can sign a guy to a one year deal and you don't have designs on tanking anymore.

Hey Noze, after you guys get our pick will you start cheering for the Wolves? (as a 2nd fav obv)

Yeah I've already said they're pretty fun to watch. If they do somehow make the playoffs I'll probably just give it up and start rooting for them.

I sorta figured as much.

Glad to see Rubio looking awesome again. I was plugging him into the trade machine (Rubio + Beasely for Rondo?) earlier. Untouchable again imo

Speaking of trading for Celtics, I assume we'd take Ray Allen in a heartbeat (FA after this year). What about Paul Pierce? He's 34 and has 2 years left on his deal after this year.

Paul Pierce is the only guy on the Celtics who probably is untouchable imo. I mean, unless a team offers something ridiculous, the Cs are gonna at the very least keep him until his contract comes up. No way will their fans let them get away with trading him. I'd say unless Pierce demands a trade, he's not going anywhere.

Terrible loss. Confused by some Adelman decisions in this game. We've played back-to-back-to-back road games and we went 8 deep tonight. Obviously i'm ticked my man AR didn't get any run.

One of the things my dad (HS girls coach) likes about Adelman is that he'll stick with a lineup if it's working. In the 3rd-4th quarter tonight the five of Luke-Webster-Beasely-Williams-Pek was playing terrible and he gave them like 7 minutes together (going from up 7ish to down 8ish). Free AR and free Rubio

Wes looked good i thought as did martell(his dunk in the first half was nasty).

love was getting mugged underneath tonight. officiating was pretty horrendous imo.

we really didnt play bad offensively, we just didnt play good defensively and the suns just made shats.

this scheduling is brutal. dont really fault the wolves at all for not showing up on the third night of a b2b2b where they've played 3 fresh opponents.

Said it before and I'll say it again, totally ****ing bull****. How is that even remotely fair?

Wolves are supposed to be a doormat for the rest of the league, so they don't give a **** about em; just like how we get like 3 natl tv games, when the heat and lakers get about 30 each.

I feel like this post is full of excuses.

not really supposed to be intended as excuses.

Like the game vs the clippers, when we ran ridiculously hot in the fourth. You're not going to win when your opponent misses what 1-2 shots in the entire fourth quarter

Last night Phoenix shot like 60% in the third and very good in the fourth. rotations seemed fine, they just made shots and we didnt. make or miss league.

http://www.canishoopus.com/

the first post kind of summarizes what i was trying to say. phoenix ran well and shot well, we really didnt. our offense looked fine, good ball movement, open looks, non selfish play, we just didnt make anything. could have just been an off night, or the team could have just been worn out after their 3rd game in 3 days. im guessing the latter had a little to do with it.

and wrt love:

there were a few orebs that love got in the fourth that he put back where there was loads of contact and he got no calls.

they showed a pic of love's jersey after one one of those instances and there was a nice tear in it.
