Definitely? Agreed it's Rubio and Wiggins.

I think Dieng/Pek/Bazz/Lavine all have a chance for one reason or another.

Mo traded along with Troy Daniels for Gary Neal and a 2019 Hornets second rounder. I like it, pick could be useful and Mo is only helping us win games at this point.

We also traded a 2017 first rounder for Adreian Payne. I do not like it, even though it said that it was highly protected. Need to see how protected for me to like it.

Flip said acquiring Payne was trusting their talent evaluations: Said analysis of Shabazz, Gorgui, Wiggins, Zach has been pretty good so...

Yep, I am waiting on this as well before I decide how good/bad it is.

Mo essentially for a 2nd rounder is what I'd expected. Shame we have to wait until 2019 to see it, haha.

Lottery protected is what I heard.

Lottery protected ain't all that great. And of course how the protections progress is a big part too.. if it just turns into a second rounder (or disappears), then it's not nearly as big of a deal.

2017 first round draft pick to Atlanta
Minnesota's 1st round pick to Atlanta protected for selections in 1-14 in 2017 (conveyable only if Minnesota conveys a 1st round pick to Boston in 2015), 1-14 in 2018, 1-14 in 2019 and 1-14 in 2020; if Minnesota has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Atlanta by 2020, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2020 2nd round pick and 2021 2nd round pick to Atlanta [Atlanta-Minnesota, 2/10/2015]

Seems like a perfectly fine low-risk trade for the Wolves.

I think i hate both trades.

First should be more protected. Wish we could have found a way to tack Chase onto either trade.

Hate both? I thought the Mo Deal was fine. Not a fan of Gary Neal tbh but he'll be gone this year anyway.

I dunno how I feel about the Payne deal. I liked him in the draft(kind of wanted the Wolves to take him if they knew Love was gone), but him bouncing in and out of the D League is obv concerning...that and him literally being on one of the best teams to maximize his talents and not sniffing the court.

Well, the trade is basically Mo for a 2nd. Which is fine. But I had a fantasy in my head that involved attaching Chase or AB to Mo. Or to the first. But i get that those dudes have super negative value and really we should be the type of team absorbing their contracts.

I really didn't like Payne as a draft prospect but apparently Flip did. Flip has earned the benefit of the doubt imo. And it's pretty clear at this point that AB can't play so onto the next PF prospect.

The worst outcome of the Payne trade is that he turns out to be nothing and we give up the 15th pick in 2018 as a playoff team.Hard to be too upset with that.

Yeah. We still paid too much. Would have liked to get a courtesy 2nd or something but i guess that doesn't really change anything. I'd prefer like top 18 protection but i guess if we were to make the playoffs in the west it'd be like the 18th pick anyways.

And if we somehow go 17 years without making the playoffs it's only 2nd round picks.

Looks pretty good in this DLeague video.

andy, your post has turned me. It's a low-risk, medium-reward trade. No longer furious.

Yeah, trade isn't lol bad or anything. Gotta have faith in Flip's scouting department...he's done pretty well the last 2 years.

My power went out with 1:09 left and came back on like a minute later but it took my "Xfinity operating system" 5 minutes to reboot. I was so ****ing pissed.

yes it is. it was really bad when Thad and Pek were out and AB was getting starters minutes.

Ricky stunk for 3/4 of the game. Stunk against Atlanta too.

Gorgui has been awful lately. Hopefully he just needs a break.

Flip came out a few weeks back and said Gorgui is just spent. All of those minutes dealing with 5s that push him around all game had to have been pretty wearing.

yeah, he's a very good backup, but he really needs to add some body weight and strength to improve much. At his age, it seems unlikely he'll add any significant strength/weight, but it can be done.

There was a great canis hoopus article over the summer talking about gorgui's strengths and weaknesses, I am sure I posted it in here a while back if anyone wanted to read it.

Anyway, the article discussed how gorgui is great at altering shots, but terrible at allowing efficient shots(due to his strength). He came out in an interview in the offseason and stated he needed to hit the weight room and get stronger.

I have no idea how much muscle he can pack on and how much is "enough", but it's good that he actually recognizes what his main deficiency is and he's making the right steps to correct it.

Pretty cool to have 4 players in the Rising Stars game. Obviously means we are too young, but the future is limitless.
