I've watched a little of a couple of their games. They look a lot more talented and deeper than the other teams.

My daughter, who is used to watching the Wolves, says the Lynx look like they're playing in slow motion compared to the NBA, lol.

I think they won the lottery 2 years in a row, but traded the pick for the 2nd pick and Whalen(sp) last year. Maybe they won it the Semone(sp) Augustus(sp) year too.

sorry, I'm not looking up all those names.

He's backing off from the statement now, but Kevin Love, after what we can only assume was a particularly invigorating beach volleyball session, said on Twitter:

"Appreciate Jesse Rambis doing work on the beach volleyball courts this morning. Gotta say, he might be the best Rambis I've been coached by."

Quite a dig. And after he broke the news of Kevin McHale's dismissal a couple years back, likely the last of his tweets for a while.

Adleman is the front runner according to Jerry Zgoda - someone at Canis said Jerry Z estimates the chances of the new coach at 50% Adleman, 30% D Nelson and 20% S Mitchell.

Speculation (supported by "inside" sources) at Canis says that Papa Glen has taken over the hiring process. Kahn is going along for the ride.

What we're hoping for is that Adleman will become the GM/Head Coach with final say over all personnel decisions. Adleman has expressed interest at that sort of position. Kahn would be sort of a salary cap manager and beat the bushes looking for potential trades. He doesn't make a lot of money for a President of Basketball Ops, so having him do that type of work seems feasible.

Getting Adleman would be huge and give this team instant credibility.

His past teams have run fast paced, efficient offenses and played good defense as well. fwiw, he has the highest winning % of all the candidates.

ONE TIME!!!!!!!!

6th in the NBA last season in offensive efficiency with that (weak) roster - pretty good imo. Also, 7th in pace, 1st in assists.

I dont know what the numbers are for that, but its probably different than when Yao played. That is also a credit to Adleman running an offense geared towards his players' strengths. That's something Rambis had no concept of.

I think its pretty clear who the best available coach is this year and its not even close. I'd be thrilled if he coaches the Wolves.

I looked and IIRC they were around 18-19 in terms of pace the last 2 years Yao played. I hope they get him too, I'm just more worried about having a season.

i don't think it can be that clear to any of us since someone we've never heard of could easily be optimal.

While the next Tom Thibodeau (or someone like that) might be out there somewhere, we arent interviewing that person because it appears we want an established, proven head coach. If you want to be a nit and look at it the way you are, that's fine. The person you speak of may or may not exist. Based on what we know right now, and excluding Phil Jackson because there's zero chance he'd ever coach this team, Adleman is the clearly best candidate imo.

Ronzone leaves Wolves

I'll actually be optimistic about this as many are saying this has to be some precursor to hiring Adelman. Since it's been widely reported that Adelman wanted at least some say in personnel decisions, the front office was getting mighty crowded and it seems like Ronzone knew it.

If the Wolves hire Adelman, he almost assuredly will get some kind of front office power which would have likely regulated Ronzone to a second-tier job at best. Wolves will miss his international scouting connections, but if this was to make room for Adelman, it's justified imo.

Of course the mainstream media fools will be blathering on about "Why not fire Kahn?" Several reasons actually, however the biggest I would think has to be Kahn's expertise and knowledge of the NBA salary cap. Prior to the Wolves, he was the "cap whiz" under Donnie Walsh and has an extensive knowledge of how NBA contracts are structured and how they relate to the cap.

When you factor that in along with the fact that he's not paid a lot for being a GM/VP of basketball ops, if one of them has to go it probably should be Ronzone.

I'm sure Ronzone saw the writing on the wall and figured (likely correctly so) he'd be regulated even further within the organization so he felt it best to mutually part ways with the team.

Or maybe he thought that Kahn would just let him sit in limbo until next February and then finally ax him .

Please let this be a sign that we're bringing in Adelman one time!

I've seen a lot of speculating similar to that. None of it has come from inside sources, so I dont know if its real or not. It does sound logical though, and I really hope its because they're going to bring in Adleman and whoever else he wants to bring with him.
