yeah I understand that catchers need an off day but Kottarras was RIGHT THERE, a decent backup with maybe a little upside who walks a lot, vs. a guy who is apparently offensively inept and not even that great defensively

more than that, I'm wondering why Wolf and Lucroy just don't get along? seems weird

Wow, does anyone know what's going on with Zack Braddock? He was a valuable part of the bullpen in 2010, with an ERA and FIP under 3, and this year seems to be just as good. Now he suddenly gets optioned for Danny Herrara (who was tearing it up in AAA, but still). I don't get it - in 2009 I thought Braddock was going to be the closer for the next 10 years!!

Sleep disorder is getting the best him imo. BTW i am hoping the Brewers can go 12-11 through the AS break... Playing the Yankees, Red Sox, Rays and Reds for 13 of the last 23 could be rough, although the Yankees, Rays and Reds are all at Miller Park

12-11 would be a huge victory, I've had that marked the toughest stretch of the year, especially considering that the Twins always seem to murder the Crew

yeah, i liked braddock a lot. thats a damn shame.

i read he suffers from anxiety issues somewhere that affect his sleep somehow? i thought it was on jsonline.

wow, this may be the ugliest game they've played all year

they've allowed 3 HRs and a triple, had a passed ball score a run as well as a wild pitch, committed two ugly errors, Weeks got thrown out twice trying to stretch out a single (and was not really close either time), and are currently losing 11-5 in the 7th despite Grienke striking out TEN in 5.1 innings

it was a bad game... the ball was carrying in Wrigley today though. I think they have been focused on the Sox, Rays and Yankees too much.

yikes this is getting ugly quick. our three best pitchers all having disaster starts in a row, plus the possibility of an injury for Marcum.

ZG was only bad with runners in scoring postion... he had a BABIP of like .500 which is awful... but yet has very good periphal numbers.

He put together a good start yesterday and I think it is just things to come for him...

o btw, first place again

his xFIP is currently the 2nd lowest ever since the stat began being tracked, second only to Gagne's ridiculous season with the Dodgers, insane that his ERA is below average despite that

I believe this is the first time the Crew has had a 3 game division lead since late July of 2007.

god, this New York series can't end fast enough (same could have been said for the Boston series). thank god we have our ace *ahem* Randy Wolf on the mound!!

surprising move yesterday - they traded Mitre for some cash, right back to the Yankees. no idea the motive behind that since his ERA and WHIP were quite good. if he's tradeable at all why not get a SS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!? then again he strikes out almost no one so I guess it's only a matter of time before he tanks

your never getting a decent short stop for Mitre. Trading for cash is a fine trade if they don't want to have him in the majors or pay him.
