I doubt that's that truth. If polled, I think the majority of fans would disagree with you. I think the majority of coaches would disagree with you too. And of course, most importantly, I disagree with you!

IMO id rather ship the regular season all day. Do that and get to the semis of the b1g tourny and lockup that #2 seed.

Depends how close the regular season is. When a #6 seed or whatever wins that tournament, it's not considered a bigger accomplishment than winning outright. If there's a 3-way tie at the top, and one of those teams emerges, or even a 3rd place team that's 1 game out of first, that might be a bigger deal.

Regular season is way more important than the BTT.

yes especially this year ainec....going through a gauntlet compared to a one and done. Winning on the road in this conference separates good vs. elite this year imo.

From a competitive, rational standpoint I completely agree.... that's not the argument I'm making though.

The fans, players, media, and tournament committee all put more emphasis on the regular season. Who knows what Dr. Ikes is talking about.

I think all of those people overemphasize the conference tourneys, with perhaps the exception of the coaches, but that doesn't mean its more important.

Anyway, you guys gonna keep it within 20 tomorrow?

Errr weird how conference tournies determine autobids then.

And disagree about the media caring more about the regular season.

This is the way I see it. You have two teams tied with the best record in the best conference in the United States of America facing off tomorrow at 1pm. As unhyperbolically (It's a word trust me) as I can possibly put this: This game is the Super Bowl of college basketball. And I fully expect the better team to win:

Spoiler:
Michigan 66 Ohio State 64

Then explain how one can go 7-11 in conference play, make the conf tourney title game, then miss the tournament like they do in 100% of those scenarios. Meanwhile, the team that goes 11-7 in conference makes it usually, regardless of how they do in the conf tourney. The regular season is weighted more.

Teams in lower conferences that don't win their tournament get ****ed. Win the conference tournament and it doesn't matter if you went 0-18. It's simply not weighted less than the regular season.

Well I'll give you that. In the lower conferences, I think everyone will agree that the conference tournament is the most important. But you said, the "Big 10 Tournament Championship is valued more than the regular season championship." So talking about lower conferences doesn't help your argument. And as I said before, I highly suspect you're in the minority opinion on that as far as fans go, and I highly suspect the majority of coaches would disagree with you too. It's basically just your opinion man.

I'm responding to a specific claim made by someone else, saying the ncaa tournament committee values tournament less than regular season play. That's pretty absurd considering how overvalued it is by the committee. The autobid for the big ten still goes to the tournament winner.

I'm not in this opinion either, it's my opinion of what the generic fan opinion is. And well, I don't see what else it could be other than my opinion. lol.

I don't see that as relevant at all since we all know that the reg season big ten champ is guaranteed to get in every time too.

You must think humans are really really dumb, or perhaps big ten college basketball fans are really really dumb. You really think most fans are gonna value what a team does (in their conference) in a few days time more than what a team does over the course of a whole conference season. I wish I could find a ****ing poll on that cause I would bet a lot of money that you are dead wrong.

Hey, I suppose a poll on 2+2 could settle this just as easily.

A poll on 2+2 wouldn't really settle it at all. 2+2 isn't full of casual sports fan, which I remind you is:

I guess you guys just have more faith in humanity than I do.

lol, well FWIW, and believe me I know it's not worth much (lol anecdotal evidence) none of my non-2+2ers and therefore non-superhuman friends + family, who watch college basketball obv, (so like 4 people) think the Big Ten tourney championship is more important than the Big Ten regular season championship.

Last time I checked bodog/bovada was a good option as far as it's easy to deposit with no fees and easy to cash out with no fees. But their juice sux compared to the 5dimes reduced juice option. I think it's possible to get money on 5dimes without fees, but I don't know about getting money off it. Last time I had money on 5dimes I got it off the traditional way, I lost it all. I just cashed out the last of my bodog/bovada money a few weeks ago.
