Pay attention numbnuts - we still have Hosmer
for 7 years including this one. Even if we trade him with 2 years of arbitration left, we still had him for 5 years. We had Beltran on the major league team for 6 years. We had Damon for 5 years. We had Grienke for over 6 years. Your Mom's original statement was that we had these guys locked up for at least 5 years, to which you replied:

No you don't.... Seriously, might want to figure out some basic stuff.
Which is just completely blatantly stupid and wrong any way you slice it. Past history suggests we will have Hosmer and all our other prospects for 5 years min.
Look at Grienke's career:
http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...reinza01.shtml He's shown flashes of absolute brilliance, had one incredible year and a couple good ones. But he pretty much dropped out of baseball for 2 years because he wasn't motivated, and he's been anything but consistent. Maybe he'll find that in Mil, maybe how won't. But none of the super hardcore Royals fans I know, or the nerdy forums, were *that* upset at seeing him go all things considered. Yes we wish he was still on the team. But it's not like losing Cliff Lee or Verlander or something who you can pencil in for 17 wins every year.
