That's the kind of win that separates the playoff teams from .500 teams

Defense is so great right now. Offense should run a bit more.

What an awesome win, I was super scared coming into this game. The offense looked anemic at times but I'm sure the lol Thursday night had a lot to do with that (I hope). Our defense is legit scary right now, we have great players at every level of the defense and that definitely showed tonight, Eagles were doubling Poe the entire game and that left their tackles one on one vs Houston and Hali and welp, gg.

Man you guys look poised to completely dominate the division in the near future when Peyton hangs it up/finally regresses.

We need another QB and coach to get to the next level. Well QB for sure. But we needed these two to get out of the basement.

we need a young QB for the future that is for sure. i kinda like the idea of him riding the bench a couple years behind a guy like smith who will instill that "don't turn this ball over" mentality in him. it worked well for rodgers (other than the fact that favre never ever emphasized something like not turning the ball over in his entire life).

our issue really is NOT with the QB right now. i know you see him dumping it off 90% of the time and basically only looking for avery or bowe on those underneath/crossing/slants across the middle. but if you watch almost anytime they show the WR/TEs downfield, they are well covered and NO ONE is getting separation. that's what happens when you have the worst group of receivers this team has ever seen--and honestly if you go back and look at the last 20 years, that's REALLY saying something. we've had some real POSs at WR who have been talented but inconsistent. almost every single WR we ever drafted in that time was a bust. anyone we drafted in the 1st round at WR was a bust. it's been a pure **** show at WR for yeeeeeeeeeeeeeears. and now we pay bowe and he can't catch but ONE PASS vs philly. great. i'm glad we paid that bum.

it's scary that donnie avery is leading receiving for us but at least someone is getting the job done. i wish we'd traded bowe when his stock was still up.

before you go "yeah smith never threw downfield with SF" don't lie. he RARELY did, but if you watched our first three games, he's basically thrown more than 15-20 yards down the field i believe once? maybe twice? i saw him throw at least 3 deep balls in one playoff game with SF. he had weapons on that team, even if the years he was there he didn't have boldin and the "new" crabtree, he still had vernon davis who is 3x the receiver that bowe is, gore as an insurance policy and their receivers at least got SOME separation. i swear every time they showed our WR last night, they were just jogging through their routes and never getting more than a half step on anyone. you can't expect smith to throw to guys who simply aren't open. so yeah he's NOT much of a deep ball threat, but at least in SF he went deep occasionally. here, we better start drawing up a bunch of great bubble screens and lots of slants, because we can't expect this group of bums at WR to go downfield at all.

While not dominant, I'll take

6.37 YPA, 61%, 3568 yards, 21 TD, 0 INT, 613 yards rushing

from my QB this year.

slightly better than our team QB #s of

6.2 YPA, 57.5%, 2937 yds, 8 TDs, 20 INT, 211 yds rushing

from last year. about 1000 more yards from scrimmage and a swing of 33 on the turnover ratio lol

The receivers need to do a better job no doubt, but in SF those times he threw it deep, it was against that LOL Saints defense who couldn't stop anybody. Reid's west coast offense is short drop backs and underneath stuff, JC is doing a great job out of the backfield. I like the way the season started off with Alex Smith going deep play action to Fasano, KC should start every game that way to keep the defense honest, otherwise teams will just play the underneath stuff all day and Alex Smith will either take a sack or run and scramble for like 3 yards, he refuses to take risks. Which is kinda infuriating but as long as he protects the ball I guess.

QB of the future, I'm glad we were able to get Bray and he looked good in preseason. He can definitely go deep with that arm of his. I wish we would use that Hemingway kid more, he's a big target and can be a good possession guy/safety valve for Smith on his comical looks "downfield" 5-10 yards. And Reid is a good coach, sure his in game stuff is bad but every coach is bad with that stuff, he's gotten the team motivated, prepared and to play hard.

Defense should be able to maul Eli this week. 5-6 sacks and a couple picks could easily be accomplished.

tennessee has an under the radar defense. not as good as ours but this should be an interesting matchup.

honestly think that our defense is so good it will keep is in EVERY game this year. i think even denver is suspect to a really good pass rush. today our CBs looked amazing outside of one bad one on one matchup vs cruz. other than that, that cooper kid looked amazing and dunta had an overall okay day in place of flowers. i really hope he is back next week!!!

Looking forward to the matchup next week. I guess it won't be best for you guys, but I would like to see Locker play in the game.

how loud was it after dexter housed that punt fanmail?

messinger wrote that he thinks it was the loudest its been since he returned the punt against san diego in that crazy, rainy monday night opener a few years ago

i was at that crazy rainy monday night opener a few years ago vs san diego. it wasn't even 3/4 full, which was sad, but it was rainy and a lot of people were inside too...

anyway yeah this place had to be louder today. i've been to arrowhead a lot over the years and it's def been louder than that opener was.

It kinda sucks that Locker is hurt because as much as I'm enjoying being 4-0, I have no ****ing clue where we stand. How good are we? Really?

Alex Smith was good today, the picks weren't really his fault and he actually threw the ball downfield and with good accuracy(Avery dropped a few). Mccluster was great, not just the punt (which was sick) but had some great grabs as well. Oline still sucks, can't get any push in runblocking but Stephenson stepped in and was better than Fisher imo. I don't quite know what to make of that.

*mellinger

upon further review I was wrong about the rain. The game Mellinger was referring to was San Diego but it was the infamous rivers worst game ever gif game. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/201009...ghts&tab=recap (not sure if this is even worst game ever, so confused)

The rainy game was a Monday nighter against the raiders maybe? I think the following year (2011)

In any case it was just the stars' reporter talking so who knows if its even right. I just want to get back to arrowhead now

Cooper had a great game. What a pick up by Dorsey and Reid. The place was rocking circa the 90s glory days. Starters getting announced pre game and just thunderous noise on defense and that punt return. McCluster has just A+ moves to make up for his lack of pure speed. This team has been a TON of fun to watch. Andy even challenged correctly and that was a big turning point in the game.

Also concerned about Fisher having a concussion. We really need the O-line to gel and give Alex more time to get down field and open holes for JCharles.
