Cassel done for the year apparently. GG.

Cassel is not the answer. Neither is Palko unfortunately. BUT if we could find out if we have anything in Stanzi that would be useful. He looked good in the preseason and surprisingly strong given his waiflike body. Put some pounds on him (*cough* HGH) and at least we would have a mobile QB who's really tough to bring down. He has a decent arm too.

I grant you Cassel wasn't the most terrible player on the field Sunday. But he still missed lots of wide open receivers, and failed to him many of them in stride (resulting in some drops that yes they should have caught but it would be nice to hit them in stride like a real QB - and there were a couple just flat out bad drops).

But even worse than his accuracy is his pocket presence and timing. He just never seems to get into a rhythm unless he has perfect protection. Miami showed that the way to beat Cassel is just to blitz every passing down, and Denver followed suit. Even when we picked it up relatively well Cassel still **** the bed 80% of the time. I'm not even sure we have hot reads, since we treat Cassel like a special needs QB.

GG. Should have just sucked all season with these injuries.

I haven't read too much of this thread but so maybe it's been mentioned. I don't think you all are taking into account the change in offensive coordinators from 2010 to 2011. Also it's been like nearly a different offensive coordinator every year Haley's been there. The scuttlebutt is that Haley can't get along with them. Duane Bowe took a big step forward last year but this year just pretty much mediocre results. Last year I think Chiefs led the NFL in rushing. So quite obviously Cassel can be effective with a decent running game supporting him.

Chiefs have had some big injuries and it shows that they're lacking in depth. Chiefs got off to a good start last year and this year it was terrible. Overall I've watched several Chiefs games this year. Very ugly and in all honesty quite pathetic. I think Todd Haley's a goner FWIW and probably should be given the situation with offensive coordinators alone. Then we can go back to the 2011 Chiefs training camp and the way Haley handled it. I think the Chiefs play the Packers in week 15, they can make some amends then.

This team has so many problems it's hard to find a place to start. But you have to put a lot of the blame on Pioli. He picked the head coach that can't get along with anyone. He picked up a career backup and made him the starting qb. He's done an ok job at getting skill players, but the offensive and defensive lines aren't very good, and there's no depth.

I think Hailey would be a good offensive coordinator, but he's not much of a head coach.

We're out of the Luck sweepstakes, but we could get a decent qb in the draft.

I just can't find any reason for starting Palko over Stanzi. I imagine he has a short lease but lol Todd Haley is probably more interested in growing beards

I can't think of a more pathetic 2 game stretch at home against mediocre teams with a chance to widen the division lead. Blow for Barkley to add another B.

I'd love to see the Chiefs take Robert Griffin III. His draft stock might be too high though already. Some mocks have him No. 2 to the Dolphins.

Everyone at chiefsplanet is really down on him for some reason. And they're usually in aggregate fairly knowledgeable.

Lay a turd for Griffin the Third.

I like RG3. He's a bigger gamble than Barkley or Landry, but has huge potential. Throws a great deep ball, very mobile and apparently he's pre-law so he's no dummy.

Hell, with the brutal schedule we have coming up and Palko at qb, we might even get as high as the #2 pick. I doubt we get that high, but lets look at the teams worse than us record-wise. Regardless, we would likely have a shot at 1 of those 4 qbs with a top 10 pick.

Chiefs likely win maybe 1 more game, so 4-12 or 5-11.

3-6 teams
Eagles - 3+ wins with vs Wash, vs NYJ, at Sea, at Mia
Seahawks - 2+ wins with 2 games vs StL, vs Was, at AZ
Jaguars - 2+ wins with @ Cle, vs Hou, vs TB, vs Ind
Cardinals - 1+ win with @ StL, vs Cle, vs Sea
Browns - 1+ win with vs Jac, at AZ
Redskins - 1+ win with vs Dal, vs NYJ, vs Min

2-7 teams
Dolphins - 2+ wins with 2 games vs Buf, vs Oak, vs Phi, vs NYJ
Vikings - 1+ win with vs Oak, vs Den, at Was
Panthers - 1+ win with at Ind, 2 games vs TB, at Hou
Rams - 1+ win with 2 games vs Sea, vs Ari, vs Cin

0-10 teams with Luck
Colts

All of the 3-6 teams can easily pass the Chiefs if they lose out. Dolphins can pass us too. The problem would be Min, Car, and StL all winning 2+ games.

rural midwesterners don't like RG3? strange

but seriously I don't know anything about evaluating college talent i just hope we draft a top 3-4 qb this year if he's there

We should instantly try to trade him to the Bears for a 2nd or 3rd round pick if we can.

I guess we are trying to win 6 instead of 5? Jesus ****ing christ, has anyone in management looked at the schedule?

I guess he's upgrade over Cassel, but are we going to resign him? get pioli out of here already, clear BB was pulling strings

I was initially pissed as well. But there is the upside of a compensation pick if he signs somewhere else next year. OR he could just resign with us and be an upgrade over Cassel. It's not a terrible deal except for giving us possibly a worse draft pick.

Chiefs @ Broncos Week 17 could be very interesting. Would love to see Orton spoil the donks out of a playoff spot

I'm rooting for 4-12 now painful as it is. Hopefully that will give us a shot at Barkley or RGIII and we'll actually take it.

But in game I'm sure I won't be able to help but root for us to win, just like 2 nights ago.

I'm pretty excited about the Winston pickup. We went from arguably the worst RT in the league to a top 5 guy. Also should be interesting to see if Hillis can return to anything like 2010, and Boss gives us much needed TE depth.

This gives us plenty of wiggle room in the draft as for once we don't have multiple gaping holes. Other than the obvious one at QB

training camp time!

I was cautiously optimistic about this season until I saw our first five games were vs Atlanta, Baltimore, New Orleans, San Diego and Buffalo

sheesh i would be fine with 2-3

the only for sure loss is @saints. 3-2 wouldn't be thaaaat surprising.

Manning looked solid tonight though, Denver's division to lose. I can see the chiefs or chargers getting a wild card spot though with the south sucking and the bengals having to play 4 games vs the steelers/ravens
