Nice! I just realized next week's Jets game is on SNF! Perfect way to end the season. Win and you're in and the whole world gets to watch it go down.

Since we play last next week, what scenarios are there in order for us to clinch before even taking the field? I'm assuming we'd need like 4/5 teams to lose, but it's worth asking.

If the Jets win on Sunday they will be the 5 seed I think if I am looking at everything correctly.

I have no opinions on the upcoming game... but, 2 important stats:

1) GTFO AFC SOUTH UNDEFEATED TEAMS
2008: Jets beat 10-0 Titans
2009: Jets beat 14-0 Colts

2) GTFO MANNINGS
Mark Sanchez: 2-0 versus opposing QBs with the last name Manning (Eli in the preseason ldo).

in all seriousness:

nothing would make me happier then winning next week, getting the pats round 1 of the playoffs and bouncing them

truth, but the pats would kill us but I would just be so happy to be back in the playoffs

What makes me feel good about next week is even if the Jets decide to be the same old Jets and lose the game i dont think Cincy would allow either the Steelers or the Ravens to make the playoffs when they can easily lose the game and eliminate both.

It's nice though that as Jets fans, if they lose 44-3 next week it won't even be a surprise.

It's a well known fact that the Jets will be up by 2 TD's going into the 4th quarter and manage to lose in OT.

talk about running hot, every team we have needed to lose has lost the last 2 weeks. unbelievable

sanchez played decent. finally, he was able to take care of the ball and played a mistake-free game; the only bad throw was called back after illegal contact, and the 2 sacks were both the fault of d-brick (really strange those 2 plays, it doesnt really make any sense why he would just completely forget about freeney) the accuracy was very very good today, but then again the pass protection was fantastic aside from those 2 brain farts from dbrick

and thank god, because if sanchez had turned it over even once, i think theres a good chance this was a loss. they were lucky the first half was as close as it was with peyton carving it up. he had 3 very near long gainers that were just the slightest bit out of reach, peyton also missed an open wayne for td that kept the score at 9-0.

revis vs wayne/peyton: 3 catches for 33 yards, and 2 plays where revis was beat and manning just missed the throw. probably the best game anyones had against revis this season, it easily could have been 5 catches for 80 yards and a td. still i think revis held his own pretty well and took wayne out of the picture for the most part

of course manning seemed to prefer throwing at sheppard, and why not. he got beat for multiple chunks, and ya i think we can say pretty confidently that his option will not be picked up. hes not worth it. he might be better than lowery right now, but its not by much, and i think lowery might be a better tackler. basically with how good revis/rhodes/leonhard is i think i prefer lowery going forward

brad smith! the forgotten man! id like to see a few more wildcat formations, theres no reason they shouldnt be able to fit some nice plays in there

i wonder if this game won manning the mvp, the difference in gameflow once he exited was instantaneous. all the other starters were still in for a series while peyton took the first seat, and the offense which had been having its way with the #1 defense was not the same anymore. 15-10 when he left, 0-19 after that

+1, definitely the best game anyone has had against Revis. One dropped TD and one dropped long pass from him having a bad game. But it seemed like he was pretty damn good after he got called for the illegal contact, iirc. He still tackled solidly which is standard.

I guess I spoke too soon. Good luck next week vs. Cincy. It would be fun to play the Jets in the first round. I think Debo's head migh pop off if there's a playoff game between the Pats and Jets.

Goodie, don't feel too bad about pronouncing the Jets dead prematurely. Their own coach did it last Sunday and then had to backtrack on Monday when it was pointed out to him that they were still alive.

And for them to now control their own destiny is really unbelievable. And Jets fans stop fretting next week. Easy win for you.
