Huge series this week against the Rangers, who come on a 7 game win streak and have won 13 of their last 15.
Proj starters:
Willis
vs
McCarthy (5.92 ERA 3-1)
Verlander
vs
Harrison (4.23 ERA 4-2)
Jackson
vs
Millwood (2.93 ERA 4-3 1.13 WHIP)
Verlander must pitch well in game 2. Game 1 is obviously a tough matchup for us. Game 3 is another tough spot for us. Hopefully the offense stays hot.

If DTrain Can give us 6ip 3r or less and the bullpen doesn't implode were going to sweep this series. Verlander/Jackson are pitching that good right now.

If I had to bet thought I'd say loss/win/win

Just going off memory.. we seem to struggle a lot against Millwood. Pretty sure he shut us out through like 7 earlier this year and then we crushed the Texas bullpen. I know he had at least one CG against us last year.
McCarthy, on the other hand, we touched up quite a bit when he was in Chicago. But, he wasn't starting back then.

Rangers should touch up Willis quite a bit. If McCarthy just holds down the fort, the Rangers are in pretty good shape in that game imo. The other two are really anyone's guess. Both games should be relatively low-scoring and will probably come down to some timely sac fly or something.
Should be a good series. Since there's no Rangers thread I may just troll you guys for the next few days. <3

It'd be really sick if we could go like 8-1/7-2 on this homestand and start to put some distance between them and the Royals/Twins. I'm pretty sure the Twins are gonna complete their solid 4 game collapse in N.Y. today.

Also listening to 97.1 they are saying Galarraga could potentially go on the DL soon with a "tired arm"

anyone else think ramon is on the juice? he does work out with ortiz and manny in the off season.. thatd be pretty awesome if he belted like 35 hr this year. i hope so.

I think theres like a 5% chance Ramon gets to double digit HRs this year. It would be loltastic if he went Louis Gonzalez on us. Although I don't think its physically possible with Ramons 5'6'' stature.

Finally back on the diamond today. Yesterday was bruts. Weve played 36 games a bunch of others have played 40. Kinda gay. Well this lineup will be pretty much the ultimate test of dtrain tonight. If hes wild and not hitting his spots he wont make it past the 3rd inning.
More Wilkin Ramirez love is needed in this thread, imo.
Also one of my lifelong teammates jus finished his senior year at Modanna and has a workout with the Tigers at Comerica here in a few days. Hopefully he gets drafted in one of the later rounds. Hes like 5'10-11ish 170 but fast as ****, hits lefty and leadsoff. lead his conference in avg and im pretty sure steals. He plays 2B.

Its madonna btw greear, don't know why I'm nitty on that, modanna is just weird.
Is our farm system really that good, or is it normal for a team to be able to call up 5 or so players that are legit mlb players?

Good ole Dontrelle, missing the strike zone by multiple feet.

Looks like dontrelle put on a solid 10-15lbs also. maybe our home jersey just makes him look thick?

Could Dontrelle possibly fit anymore chew in his mouth? lol. Already got the run good going with that first inning fade.

Good swing by Larish, it'd be nice to get more than 1 this inning.
