Lol, again, if you were actually doing it right as a Lions fan this magical year would actually alleviate some of your extremely justified Michigan pain.

Spoiler:
Michigan will be back dude (2016 I personally promise!). So stop worrying! Everything's gonna be alright!

Good parenting FTW.

Now given this background it's hard not to lol at posts like yours DWetzel and obv many others. I mean I just don't get it. Many of you are all bitching and complaining, possibly abandoning the sacred pact of fanhood, during a year where you guys have had a legit playoff sweat all year, and of course still do! For this organization, that is literally as good as it gets. You're actually in the midst of a magical year (for this organization), a year where you've had a serious chance and probably right-down-to-the-last-game suspense of making the playoffs--a year very similar to that magical year where the Lions lost to the Saints in the playoffs. At this point EVEN IF the Lions don't make the playoffs, this has been an amazing year....for this organization.

So instead of getting all distressed, distraught and depressed at the turn of every loss, appreciate the moment fellas. This has been an outstanding year to be a Lions fan for the same reason this has been an outstanding year to be an Indiana Hoosiers football fan (They almost qualified for a bowl!). I know you guys are serious Lions fans, but if you don't get this, if you don't keep perspective and properly appreciate this gift of a year, then you're not doing it right.

Just food for thought from the outside looking in.
No, see, Lions fans don't show up in spite of the emotional trauma, we show up because of it. Classic abusive relationship pitfall, but deep down the Lions management loves us. They really do, even if they don't show it.

My dad tried to warn me too. "As long as I can remember the Lions have stunk and the Wolverines were good (they were at the time of this advice anyway). That's just the natural order of things," he says.

No use. I fell into the trap anyway. Cared too much even though I knew it was the way of the world. He tried to be a good parent, just didn't coach me enough in not caring. Not enough grit.

I've tried rooting for different teams. No use. The wins don't feel as sweet, the losses not as frustrating. I'm too old, I'm a goner. All I can do now is remind myself that the performance of my favorite sports teams are not a reflection on my value as a human being. It's tough, a big ask. Must seek budda.

Maybe when I have a son I'll help him break the curse. One day...

A thought on the rushing defense.

Is it just me or did they run a stupid amount of stunts upfront for how bad they were getting gashed/game conditions. Seemed like 85% of the rushing yards were against some kind of stupid upfront stunt.

"There is no way we can go in the red zone twice and ... cough it up twice. No blame on nobody. Don't blame the coaches. Put that game on me, my shoulder. I'm going to come back next week and I'm going to run furious." - Joique Bell

Buffalo
New England
Jets/Giants
Green Bay/Kansas City

Doesn't seem like Denver gets as much snow as you'd expect.

fumbled 6 times

more cliffs

same old lions (for real this time)

as someone put in the thread, using USPS motto as a template: no matter the weather, location....etc: the lions will gash you, and turn it over on the 10.

If they didn't turn the ball over, game is over in the first half; but lolions

More cliffs

Fairley gets a RTP PF on a hit to midsection as the ball is released.

Also we have a defensive holding call on a missed 2pts conversion....on Suh....as he is jumping in the air

Also same old lions

The Lions routinely blow games where they're up significantly going into the home stretch, why not pull the same stunt on a season wide scale?

Gg, Detroit is a very solid team that should win their division. I did think the weather would help the Detroit defense, but didn't consider how it negated the best player on the field. I also didn't expect the second best player on either team to beast it up second half like that, a shifty guy in the snow. Just a nutty game that would be completely different in normal weather; maybe we'll see that happen yet.

Guys ready to jump ship on the lions need to calm down. It's not even close to a fatal blow, and the lions offense is elite.

I dunno why you think team threads are sacred from any other fanbase posts, especially with a relevant matchup. Arizona fans post in Philly thread last week, Detroit fans post this week-it's generally good natured and fine. I only posted initially because I was curious about how other fans of upcoming teams felt about Nicholas Foles.

Detroit is the best team the Eagles have played in awhile and I'd say gg either way. I'm a strat forum mod, so basically not a mod in SE context.

I am gone. Gl going forward.
