Gotta look at it like we have to go no worse than 5-5 in the next 10 (after which we almost definitely have Dez and Romo both back), which is manageable. At 7-5, in a division that looks like it could be awful, we'd be in decent shape to make the playoffs.

Weeden kinda sucks, but he's good enough to make throws when he's able to chill out in the pocket, and we have the line to do that for him. Of course we have to find a backup for him now.

My main concern is the ridiculous pace of injuries. And not even to scrubs, it's all elites. Anyway I'm more eager to see how we can do till Gregory and Hardy are back. A good D that could keep us in a few games may be enough to go .500 while the big guns on O are gone.

Other side of this coin is that this injury cost Romo a season once before. We could really be done here if it's the same severity.

ps: that fumble by Escobar was the worst. We gotta stop killing ourselves with **** like that.

The number of penalties was ridiculous.

Defense is pretty good. Offense is going to be painful with Weeden and no Dez.

Just imagine if we can eliminate the lolturnovers and cut the lolpenalties in half, we'd be a ****ing juggernaut. We threw away all of our room for error in these two games and we're still 2-0.

8-8 wins the division possibly so I guess if Romo and Dez are able to return in week 10 we will have a sweat

People are going to spin it in some positive way, but they'll be fortunate to win 25% of their games as is. Unless Brandon Weeden suddenly jumps about 20 points above his career QB rating (he won't) or they find the next Kurt Warner (they won't) I just don't see them being competitive enough.

They played pretty bad overall the last two games and just happened to run into two teams in full meltdown/fail mode. The Cowboys O arguably looked worse today than that Green Bay loss that sent Wade Wilson packing.

I guess anything is possible and it was fun to see Brandon Weeden come in and style on the Eagles a little bit, and see 7 total rushing yards by them. And DeMarco Murray is now on pace for an 88 rushing yard season. But even in this **** ass division they're probably shot for the year. If an Orton-quality guy were back there then I'd start counting what they might be able to do.

For now find a QB and hope that Brandon Weeden has improved to something beyond the min-salary garbage QB they picked up last year.

DeMarco was really salty lol, and is it just me or does he look smaller in an eagles uni.

Romo glass bones confirmed, did you hear his presser it sounded like hes broken his collarbone 1000 times. Hes basically an ortho by now.

Sean Lee 14 tackles, 2 for loss, and 2 PD. One time?

i guess we actually ran good on the Romo injury all things considered. So he misses 7 games. Fact is we gotta beat one of the Falcons or Saints to start, and get to that early bye and get Hardy/Gregory back. Then it's a puncher's chance.

And Ronaldo McClain. As bad as the saints looks I think we can beat them. Not to sure about the falcons. Weeden will have to play flawless to beat them.

Well the Falcons just lost their best running back, and Freeman isn't going to command any safety help in the box. So it's a great time to let a safety help on Julio, and you let them beat you any other way.

On the other side of the ball, it's gotta be 2/3's run plays, and let that open up play action bombs when you got one. At least Weeden has some range on his bomb, so we basically just play for 4 yards, or a home run. Nothing in the middle.

Romo probably misses at least 7 games and then what does he look like when he comes back? I'm not seeing them stitch together enough wins when you're most likely talking about a Brandon Weeden-Kellen Moore tandem at QB. Falcons next week, two SB teams in that stretch. Really everybody is arguably a favorite to beat them at the moment.

But whatever. Weeden should know what he's supposed to do and has had lots of reps so he's the clear best option ATM. See what he does and maybe a miracle happens. I wouldn't mind being horribly wrong about him.

DeMarco is salty. Those have to be the most freakishly lol rush stats for the first two season games by a starting HB ever. Looks like a Rich Eisen statistic. And the best part is he hasn't fumbled away a game for them yet.

Saints are gonna be without Brees when we face them, gonna be Luke McCown.

I dunno man, I'm more optimistic than most. I know it'll be ugly, but I think the division will allow for it. Eagles losing Kiko and his backup is big time. Just need the Skins to get some run bad too.

Saints without Brees should be far worse than us without Romo. Falcons game is definitely winnable at home. If Weeden can go 3-4 with Romo out, I like our chances in the East. 9-7 might be good enough to win the division this year.

Power rankings put us at 51% to beat the Falcons.. We were like 64% pre-Romo injury.

I think we're projected to go 2-5 without Romo

2-5 will do the job. 4-5 with him returning keeps us in the conversation for the division for sure. Obviously the most important wins in there would be @Giants and the Eagles rematch. By the time we play either we're supposed to have everyone on the D side back (obv not Scandrick). That's enough to be in those games with those putrid teams. The dope part is we won't get the Skins till way later, and they may very well be the team we're really competing with.

I see this time as a time for the team to nut up and bond. Guys like Terence Williams and Escobar get to see what it's like to be required to play 100% on every down and play mistake free. Not having Tony means everyone else has to give more.

Anyway the GOOD thing here is this isn't Tony's throwing arm. He's not going to lose too much on his ball or his conditioning. That's why I'm not willing to say "season over" yet.

Btw I think we run pretty good with the Eagles being @Jets this week. I got Jets winning that.

Who are we rooting for in Giants v Skins? Giants I guess?

Skins are garbage, so having then keep the giants record down is probably the best. Not sure how they're winning games.
