Miles value is probably going down the tube. Looking pretty spare atm and he's injury prone.

19 carries-65 yards for Joseph Randle. TERRIBLE. WAY too much running.

I don't think it's too much, just not very good running. Granted both Murray and Dunbar were out hurt and he's not a primary option. And it was only his second game getting carries, plus don't forget that he caught 3 passes for 28 yards and caught a couple the game before as well.

Still when I see a rookie halfback I expect to see a guy that struggles in picking up a rusher or running a route. I can understand that. But if there's one thing a rookie RB should be able to do on draft day reasonably well, it's run the football. At least he's shown improvement though - he went from a 1.5 avg to a 3.4 in a week.

As far as the defense, there's no doubt that Jason Hatcher is going to get paid by someone if not the Cowboys (which means a couple more restructures lol). He is arguably the best-performing player on defense and I think you could have made that argument last year too. What's the value of a guy who can play at an ultra-high level in both the 3-4 and 4-3? Even if he is 32 I imagine someone will find some good money for him. I still think it's going to be the Saints but whatever.

And it's becoming increasingly clear that George Selvie is a starting-quality player in this system. Maybe not elite star material but he's certainly earned a modest extension and a place on the team. Unlike Hatcher he's young and affordable.

The rest of these d-line guys, whew. I was paying some special attention to Nick Hayden and he looked pretty bad. I won't be amazed to see Nevis replace Hayden or some other move like that. The other guys about what you'd expect although Vega looked like a kid just called up from the practice squad.

I know I've been wrong before but barring some unexpected retirement or career-ending injury I really don't see them neglecting the defensive line in next year's draft. They already went TE, WR, S, CB, LB to deepen those spots a bit. I know they like Bass and Crawford a lot but they're going to need more than that. It's RB that worries me, they've shown they're not above going high for one of those.

Well the good news is no more Austin for a while. The bad news is we can't trade him. Looks like they wanna shut him down for a while, which means more of everyone else (which is sweet).

Even as someone who launched bitter and not altogether measured invective at Tony Romo's backbreaker INT two weeks ago, I gotta say I don't know what all the hate at Austin is about.

Dude's got some unfortunately fragile components (so does Murray, so does Vick, DeAngelo Williams, RG3 unfortunately, plenty of fragile talented guys) and I'm sure he probably does the best he can with it. He is seeming like a bit of a spare lately, so I hope we can get some value maybe.

I wasn't kidding about DeMarcus, either. I feel like offering him to the highest bidding 3-4 team that isn't, say, Philly, would really be doing his career a service, for one thing; I just don't think he can take the pounding in the trenches and he'll probably kill himself trying. If they're willing to really spend in terms of picks and (ideally) have some d-line misfit that we could really use, it could be a Walker trade level game changer.

Dez has gotta love being a Cowboy's player. Comments taken way out of context and he gets blasted for it. He should keep trolling the media.

Im stoked we signed Marvin Austin. Guy had mad talent coming out of UNC. Hopefully he realizes this is most likely his last chance to make it in the NFL and is motivated to live up to his potential. Lets see what Marinelli can do with the kid

Wow he's big for his height, crazy. Even if he only plays a few snaps it's something. Sounds like he had all the natural talent in the world and not enough brains.

So it's pretty much Carr on Mega, with safety help all day, right? I'm fine with Bush beating us, obviousy fine with Pettigrew+Durham beating us. Just don't want to lose to Megatron. so what, you blitz the **** out of Stafford, double up Mega, and let the rest sort itself out?

God I hate Suh, not looking forward to him. I hope they play the spread and give Beasley 5-7 targets. Just keep them from stacking up the box. Let Dez and company make plays after they get the ball. No way the Lions D runs with everyone.

It's not hating, it's just a numbers thing. Cap charges for the next three years are $8.2m, $9.6m & $12.5m. He's not nearly productive enough to justify that and they desperately need to reclaim cap space for players who are. Counting IR losses, you have to fit around 60 players under a $125m cap.

Dez, Williams, Beasley and Harris all playing well and under contract through next year or later. Then there are are three wideouts--three!--currently on the practice squad, two of whom actually have a little experience. So while I like Miles and hope to see him help the team this year, I think this is it. If he were a $4-5m/year guy then maybe you could hang on to him.

maybe ask in the detroit threads, they'll know. I doubt it's awful since it's not our division. Certainly doing it at an Eagles game isn't great.

If anyone gives you grief, tell them the Lions owe us for life after what they got back for Roy Williams.

David Arkin released, Jakar Hamilton called up from practice squad.

Arkin should be practice squad eligible himself and it's hard to see anyone claiming him, so they're probably just trading places. May as well with Wilcox out, they need another safety. And Arkin's inactive every game anyway.

Was so sure we had that goal line stand.

What kind of coverage was that on 4th. My god how does Mega get a 4-5 yard cushion on 4th and 3?

I think Scandrick was supposed to take away the slant but he just stood there. Sims had the slant on the long play but he got sucked in by the play action.
