yeah i saw the game. saw the White Sux luckbox a double play every other inning. take variance out and we win that game by 3+ runs.

Jon Lester vs Chris Sale today, should be pretty good.

lester ****ing sucks man. we need to add an ace this season because i can't trust this man to get it done in the playoffs.

the sox were ready... Lester starts slow, they go 2B, 3B, 1B, and since then he's throwing a 1-hitter with 7 Ks.

I think mlb might end up having to lower the mound... scientific training and strategy plus playing 1 sport year round = lots of guys throwing 95 with late, 6+ inch movement exactly where the hitter is weakest. that **** is nasty. you are now a top-25 hitter if you're batting .300 - baseball hasn't been like this since the 80's and there's no end in sight. the best hitter on the planet won't even sniff .400. it's overcompensation for the steroid era, I guess.

eta: of course while I was typing this he blew up. Joe is slipping a bit lately... I can't fathom why he pulled Hendricks, and then he leaves Jon in when he's throwing 61% strikes. well, I guess he had K'd 5 of the last 6 batters... oh well. I think the break will do us some good.

sale's a top 5 mlb pitcher. even giving the smallest of ****s about baseball should have you hearing his name multiple times a year.

didn't expect the cubs to be 7 over at the break. it would be nice to see them pick up some pitching, but it doesn't seem worth it this year when the bats are still young and unproven. maybe just grab an innings eater and hope you can win a flip in the wildcard game, but i don't wanna sell prospects unless we're competing for the division.

Lester bashers are just exhausting.

As much as I want to see them make a run this year, I have to admit, that it would not be smart to dump prospects to move for a pitcher in season. They are gonna go get Price + 1 this winter.

Just keep doing what you are doing, get a wild card, and hope to catch lightning in a bottle. Trying to steal back 8 games from the 2 best teams in the NL over half a season is a bit much.
