he's pitching on the same day as penny too (not that he's been bad, but theres gotta be a team that will give us something for him). 9 ip, 1 h, 7k, 0 bb on 96 pitches (71% strikes)

what else is left? he has nothing to prove

Why would you want to get rid of/demote Wakefield?

He just might be pitching when Buchholz retires.

What's the point of having a DH batting 7th or below in the lineup?

surely there's gotta be some one on the bench who would be an improvement over Ortiz right now.

Tuesday's lineup vs. the Twins:

Elsbury, CF
Pedroia, 2B
Drew, RF
Youkilis, 3B
Bay, LF
Ortiz, DH
Varitek, C
Bailey, 1B
Lugo, SS

I guess Ortiz will be batting 6th when Lowell returns to the lineup Wednesday.

Lowell has been in the 7 spot recently despite hitting well (4th in OPS on team after Youkilis, Bay, and Drew). He's batted higher when other starters were out of the lineup, though.

Francona must think Ortiz needs the "protection".

Any chance Lester will go to AAA to work his problems out, and Buckholz get recalled for a few starts?

The only time I bet on baseball is when Wakefield pitches in a dome. How can we have a four-game set in Minnesota, and a healthy Wakefield isn't slated to start any of them?

As a consolation prize, he's up for Game One in Toronto, but Toronto knows that Wake is a monster is a dome, and they open the roof when he comes to town, even if it's pouring rain outside.

DiceK just threw the worst pitch I've seen since Len Barker sent one over the backstop and onto the net at Fenway (70's?).

I never saw a pitch bounce over the catcher's head before tonight.

If the Sox dont resign Bay I would like to see him end up in San Francisco. Then the announcers could say Bay goes Bay.

things i did not know: bay's 11 consecutive hr's w/ runners on base was 1 away from tying the record held by griffey and aaron

also, 12 baserunners and 4 wild pitches in 5 innings only leading to 3 runs is pretty sick. dicek is all heart.

Does it make me a fairweather Sox fan for never wanting to watch another Dice-K game?

The guy tilts me to no end.

LOL horrible call at the plate + Redmond getting tossed + Twins losing the DH.

And now Beckett unleashes a stream of audible profanities at the home plate ump after not getting a borderline strike, so naturally Varitek gets tossed.

Twins fan crossing over. Just want to say that this home plate ump is the biggest dbag of all time and Beckett's tirade was hilarious.

I can't believe I can't find a link to Leslie Nielsen running everybody at the end of "Naked Gun".

"I've heard enough of you, you're outta here!"

"All right then, you're out of here!"
