Pass offense finally has a chance to be really good. Haven't seen that in ages in ATL. Adding an elite TE in Gonzalez to go with improving pro-bowler Roddy White and Michael Jenkins makes you respect the pass while Turner and Norwood look to tear it up again in the backfield.

On the other side, Abraham should continue to be one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL but the rest of the D-line is a question mark and will need production out of the young guys.

We replaced one old LB (Brooking) with another (Peterson)and Chris Lofton comes back at ILB.

The secondary is young and underrated and rookie William Moore could end up being very good.

Defensively there is a lot to focus on. We won't make it very far if we don't make some improvements stopping the run.

Kind of weird being a Falcons fan and worrying about defense and relying on pass offense.

Prediction: 10-6 Wild Card Team that could get scary in the Playoffs

Lawrence Sidbury Jr. (DE) could be a sleeper pick to help this team on the D-line, especially if Jamal Anderson II moves inside. Jonathan Babineux was pretty solid last year, he and Peria Jerry should be 2 solid run stuffers in the middle and give John Abraham some 1 on 1 opportunities.

I've read good things about Stephen Nicholas (LB) so I guess he and Peterson take over for Boley and Brooking, but I'm not sure if there is a natural OLB in that group, I've heard Peterson is versatile enough to play all 3 LB positions so I guess he moves outside by default.

The secondary is very young, and actually pretty deep with talented players, Chris Houston and Chevis Jackson are probably the starting corners (supposedly the group is pretty close). Eric Coleman played pretty well last year, and William Moore has a lot of talent, but his dropping to the 2nd RD should raise flags. Thomas Decoud probably starts if Moore fails to impress the coaching staff.

It will be interesting to see how the O-line improves now that Sam Baker has some NFL experiance under his belt. Filling Todd Weiner's shoes won't be an easy task for the 2nd year tackle. Tyson Clabo was extremely impressive last year, and figures to be a pro bowl candidate at guard for years to come. This is a pretty talented and young group, only Todd McClure has a good bit of NFL experiance, they will need to improve imo, and if the Arizona game was any indication of what they'll play like next year all the skill players in the world won't help.

There is a lot of talent on this team, and supposedly Michael Jenkins was out playing Roddy White at some point in the off-season (he also seemed to really improve toward the end of the season last year). I'm pretty excited to make a deep run in the playoffs this year, but that schedule looks brutal, 10-6 would be pretty strong imo.

Douglas getting hurt will speed the Roddy White negotiations.

sigh he has a torn ACL and is out for the season. We should be fine but still sucks. His speed can't be replaced.

His end-arounds were some of the most fun plays to watch last season.

Our WR's sure have tough luck with injuries.

Someone get Brian Finneran on the phone!

Can I join the Falcons bandwagon until the Lions manage to win half their games? So, forever? Love this team. I worship Matt Ryan

They signed Robert Ferguson and are in talks with Ike Hilliard. If Matt Jones hasnt signed with the Bears they could talk to him too.

I'd like to see Jerious Norwood get some time as the #3 WR. With his speed he would be a downfield threat. Also running the Wildcat. He will probably return kicks and/or maybe Thomas Brown.

standard preseason game. 1st teams looked aight. No major injuries. We just didn't have a chance against the preseason juggernaut that is the Lions ldo

First unit ATL offense owns Detroit. Burner would be the GOAT if he played the Lions every week. Tony G looks like a great fit.

Secondary not looking good against SD receivers. A circus catch , but the secoandary looks like high scool players out there. Pressure on QB looks pretty good.

Offense looks to have a pretty good balance and rythm with Gonzalez now.

geez D looks terrible. QB pressure has been ok but it's gonna have to be great to hide that secondary.

They traded picks for Tye Hill today. I figured something like this would happen after their horrible secondary play last week.

Good win Sunday. Offense didn't look great but that will work itself out with all the talent. Defense looked far better than expected. Such a tough schedule this year. Have to bear Carolina at home Sunday then just pray for the best in New England the following week.

Schedule looks easier if CAR is down, but I have a hard time believing Delhomme has totally lost it. I see them coming out with some kind of simplified offense this week vs ATL.
