I hate that you're probably right.

The Brewers still have Braun, the Reds have Votto, the D-Backs have Goldschmidt, the White Sox have Sale and Abreu

We have Freddie Freeman and Julio Teheran and Shelby Miller...

...for now.

Top 3 farm with a new stadium and a ton of financial flexibility upcoming. Yes, it hurts right now, but the franchise as a whole is in fine shape

Is it really a top 3 farm system when TINSTAAPP, and the current regime at best does nothing special re: pitching development?

It's good that the Barves conned Cobb County, but we are at a point where TV is overtaking ballpark, and our TV money is essentially zero compared to the rest of sports. And for another generation.

According to the BA midseason update, Braves have 3 of the top-50 prospects

http://www.baseballamerica.com/minor...prospects2015/

26 - Peraza (2b)
32 - Albies (ss)
37 - Newcomb (lhp)

That may push for top-10 system, but hardly top-3.

I guess you could count Olivera, who was 16 on that list. But he's ****ing 30 years old and sooooo much less valuable as the LF they're converting him to than the 3B he was supposed to be.

Hart/Coppolella are tougher on fan favorites than George R.R. Martin. Time to hang up the wife's Simmons jersey in the closet alongside the dusty Heyward and Kimbrel jerseys.

Peraza is gone. I didn't know they were making Olivera a LF. huh.

The Braves have a ton of mid-tier prospects and depth in the system. At the beginning of this season fangraphs had us tied with the Cubs with number of top 200 prospects. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-f...prospect-list/. We had 10 of the top 130 or so...not counting Olivera or Peraza..and no Allard or Newcomb etc.

It's from Training Day, which is a great movie.

I still don't get why people say it.

Coppolella gettin' salty

I wonder what would've happened if the reporter brought up that Aybar's OPS was lower than Simmons's last season.

“I know it’s hard for our fans, but I’m not running for office. We are doing what I believe is what’s best in for the long-term interest of the Braves. I’ll trust our scouts and analytics.

“I’m getting so tired of this,’’ Coppolella told USA TODAY Sports on the eve of the quarterly Major League Baseball owners’ meetings. “If guys want to take shots, or (degrade) us, fine. But let’s let it play out for a few years before we start branding our pitchforks and torches
I didn't even scroll past here. Because it's obvious you don't know what analytics mean, and because you did worse than this to the previous regime, i.e. you waited to let things play out and still wrongly brought out the pitchforks

Best way for a new GM to keep his job is the old "you really can't judge these moves for a few years" trick though.

Just a more vulgar way of saying we're going to lose over 100 games this year. We're going to be 1988 Orioles bad.

Chop County's top 35 Braves prospects is up.

I'm eagerly awaiting his opinion on Swanson and Blair.

Sucks that reading prospect lists is probably gonna be the high point of my baseballing for the foreseeable future, but here we are.

I think Swanson is way overvalued. Expect a Gordon backham type. Blair is prolly the best chip in this deal

Coming from a dbacks fan

This is the first trade I haven't been apocalyptic about. It seems like a fleecing, tbh.
