It's really weird that his troubles are coming on 2 strike counts so often lately. I hope it's not that there's a book now on how he wants to strike everyone out, and he hasn't adjusted yet.
The double to Herrera in Colorado was 0-2 (the other two hits were not 2 strikes)
The David Wright home run was on a 2-2 count after he took a ball at 1-2
The Mesoraco home run in Cinci was a 3-2 count (Choo was 2-1)
The ground rule double was a 3-2 count (after starting 0-2)
Sample size, blah blah blah, but it sucks to feel like "alright, we're good" after the first few pitches and then see him struggle to finish it off.
It's probably a combination of things. 1) not throwing his slider enough 2) 1mph drop in fastball velo 3) locating fastball is a little off (55% zone compared to 60% last season)
Basically he's 2011 awesome Kimbrel right now instead of 2012 best RP in the history of the game Kimbrel
