Ya it had/has me slightly concerned, but he had just pitched ~17 hours prior.

I wonder if he's ever pitched that soon after pitching? Could be that. Maybe be didn't get much sleep the night before. Who knows. Hopefully his velocity is where it should be next time be pitches.

So I went and looked at his velocity charts and found that he had three similar games in 2011 but none last year:

So I remembered your post and I was sure I'd find that he was pitching back-to-back, maybe night-game/day-game stretches in these. Interestingly enough, though, he had at least 1 day off before each of those games.

2011-04-16, 93.8 mph, 1 day off before
2011-04-27, 93.5 mph, 3 days off before
2011-07-07, 93.8 mph, 1 day off before

At least it does show that it isn't an unprecedented outing.

Don't get too excited - streaks like this generally involve a lot of win/loss luck. As it turns out, the Braves are indeed outperforming their Pythagorean expectation.
