oh i know what fredi was thinking

he didn't wanna use medlen or martinez because the pitchers spot was coming up and they can't pitch less than 2 innings

obv can't use oflaherty because it's not 7th+

all makes sense

yeah and last thing you would want to do is double-switch with one of the 3 starting players on your bench today <frediot>

We are quite a balanced team.

position rankings sorted by WAR in projected ZIPS for 2012..includes this month's results-

Catcher- 5.1 WAR- 5th in majors
1st Base- 3.3 WAR- 11th
2nd Base- 2.8 WAR- 13th
3rd Base- ~4 WAR- 9th
SS- 0.9 WAR- ~30th (Pastornicky 1.1, Wilson -0.2)
LF- 2.9 WAR- 10th
CF- 4.6 WAR- 6th
RF- 5.2 WAR- 2nd

SS is probably last actually because Wilson is playing more than projected.

"--SS Tyler Pastornicky got a second consecutive start off. Not simply because backup SS Jack Wilson is delivering RBI even without getting big hits, but because manager Fredi Gonzalez wants Pastornicky to watch how Wilson positions himself to deliver throws to first base.

--RF Jason Heyward got the start off Sunday; INF/OF Eric Hinske started in right field. Heyward had a 10-game hitting streak snapped Saturday, otherwise manager Fredi Gonzalez would have had him in there. But once he went 0-for-4, Gonzalez wanted to give him a breather. Heyward pinch hit in the ninth and flied out to left."

I don't think Evan Gattis has been talked about ITT and he should be. He's a 25 year old catcher in A+ right now, about to move up to AA, who is absolutely crushing. Here's a good article on him if you didn't see it- http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-...-does-he-ever/

.431/.500/.863 6 HR 21 RBI so far in 2012

If we can't keep McCann my money is on this guy to replace him. Not Bethancourt.

It's possible that Hudson will be ready to take JJ's next start.
