Still no hitting and no payroll that LM will spend. If they sell the team I'd feel 10 times better.

At least we're winning tonight.

biggest immediate problem is finding a hitting coach whose only answer to any problem is "just never don't swing"

45 away from 500. His career high is 45. Can he hit 45 more this year to set a new career high? :P

“I’m not going to say that I was the spark,” Jones said. “Obviously the two-run homer was a big lift, but I’d much rather be a calming influence. Have them look down there, see me, and know that I’m going to put up some good at-bats and hopefully make the play if it’s hit to me. If they feed off that, great. But my nickname is not Sparky.”

I did notice that Chipper was not limping and got down the first base line pretty quick. As the season goes on expect him to slow down. Hopefully he doesn't end the season on the DL again. Really want him to go out on his own terms and not carried out.

Our payroll is going to continue to hang in the 80-90mil range while everyone else moves past us.

And while our scouting has always been great i'm not exactly comfortable with the fact that they're all 'old school' guys. We need to move more towards sabermetrics soon or we'll be left behind. I doubt the Braves even have one sabermetrician or statistician or whatever....hope i'm wrong

And obv being owned by Liberty Media isn't optimal.
pretty certain braves have a sabr guy or two in the front office. they use fangraphs for reference all the time (quote from wren when he guest lectured a class at Tech a few months ago)

Delgado looking pretty good tonight. I know it's just the Astros, but decent so far. Bunch of grounders, no walks yet, handful of K's.

nice to see Delgado get out of that jam.

Should be a fun inning to watch with Chipper, Uggla, Heyward coming up.
