the braves are good at making the games compelling from start to finish

makes for good baseball imo. no one likes to see their team break a game open and hold a big lead.

It really is amazing how terrible we are at getting runners in from 3rd with less than 2 outs.

R.I.S.P. with any amount of outs has been terrible.

Huge run, with Saito coming in in the 9th

which Glavine politely said

Good game us. Even though we should have swept I am decently happy. NOw please sweep the Astros. Def pumped to see Minor, just wish it wasnt at Medlen's expense. Do you think they will pull up Freddie Freeman from AAA since we have been weak at first base. Dude is killing it.

a couple lucky break for the Giants and it should have been a swept for us! Naw, seriously though just a tough series for the Giants this weekend... That's how baseball is though; Timmy with one bad pitch to Gonzalez, Cain one bad pitch to Glaus. We're lucky to walk out with one. Braves has such a sick rotation and potent offense.

I'm liking the outlook for the next series.

ATL @ Houston

Minor =? Norris
Jurrjens = Happ
Hanson > Rodriguez

While the Phillies are vs LAD, a much tougher team

Kendrick < Padilla
Oswalt > Billingsley
Blanton << Kershaw

The rosters expand soon. Freeman is coming in Sept at latest.

He has been tearing it up. Hope he can do the same in the pros.

Are you pretty confident about this?

IIRC he's young for AA. I'd love to get a glimpse though, he sounds like a great prospect.

It's pretty sick how bad we're running in that spot, and if you look at our team's BA and OBP % it's one hell of an anomaly for us to have run so bad with men in scoring position (particularly runners on 3rd with less than 2 outs).

Not sure if it was a typo, but he has been in AAA all year.

No I thought he was one of the younger guys at the AA level. I guess I confused him for one of our young pitching prospects that just came up to double A at like 19 or 20.

Hes the first baseman in AAA that is killing the ball. I think he is like .325 14 hrs
Not certain about his stats. But he is playing better than Glaus is ATM

.305/.368/.509 in 419 PA at AAA, 20 years old

36 BB, 69 K, 27 2B, 2 3B, 15 HR

Obviously you'd like to see him walking a little more, but he's never been that kinda guy, and that's a AAA line from a 20-year old. So, tons of upside.

I dunno about rushing him just yet, though.

Just had not heard any word on what they were thinking. REad an article on how impressed they were with him, but didnt know the time frame for him. Obv he may be helpful, but dont want another shafer. Take your time imo

He'll probably be our opening day 1st baseman next year. Would be smart to have someone hold the spot warm till June or at least May to delay his service clock, but doubt Braves will do that.

No way Freeman gets major playing time this year unless Glaus gets hurt imo. I would like to see Freeman get a cup of coffee in the majors later this season though...I fully expect him to be our starting 1st basemen coming out of spring training next year.

man we are really gonna need a RH power bat to split Heyward/McCann/Freeman
